LG G7 ThinQ Officially Announced

LG has finally announced its latest flagship device — the LG G7 ThinQ. Instead of just naming as G7, the ThinQ naming also means the phone packs with a bunch of AI features.

Powering the phone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB expandable storage. As usual, there will be a “+” variant with more RAM and storage (G7+ ThinQ: 6GB RAM + 128GB expandable storage).

The phone sports a 6.1-inch QHD+ (3,120 x 1,440) 19.5:9 FullVision Super Bright Display, which is actually an LCD display. Just like most flagships nowadays, there’s a notch on top, but LG calls it as the New Second Screen.

Additionally, the phone has a dual-camera setup: 16MP Super Wide Angle (F1.9 / 107°) + 16MP Standard Angle (F1.6 / 71°). Selfie wise, there’s an 8MP F1.9 front-facing camera. The phone also features AI CAM, which offers 19 shooting modes, up from eight, for even more intelligence-optimized shots. The new Super Bright Camera feature allows you to take photos that are up to four times brighter typical of photos shot in dim light.

Furthermore, the phone also features Boombox Speaker, which utilizes the internal space of the phone as a resonance chamber to deliver double the bass of conventional smartphones for powerful “boombox” sound without the need for external speakers.

It is also the first smartphone to offer DTS:X to deliver virtual 3D sound for all content, up to 7.1 channel audio with earphones. There’s even a Hi-Fi Quad DAC for incredibly rich sound especially when paired with high-impedance earphones.

The LG G7 ThinQ packs a 3,000mAh battery and runs on Android Oreo. The phone will roll out in the coming days in South Korea followed by major markets in North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia. In terms of colors, the phone comes in New Platinum Gray, New Aurora Black, New Moroccan Blue, and Raspberry Rose.
