Lenovo Unveils Yoga Slim 7 Carbon, Yoga Slim 7 Pro, and IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook

Lenovo had recently unveiled a series of new laptops in conjunction with the annual Lenovo Tech World 2021 event. These new laptops that got unveiled are the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Carbon, the Yoga Slim 7 Pro, and the IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook.

Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Carbon

The Slim 7 Carbon is a 14-inch ultralight and portable laptop, designed for consumers who live an active lifestyle. The device can be fitted with up to an 8-core AMD Ryzen 7 5800U CPU, paired with AMD Radeon graphics, with an optional NVIDIA MX450 discrete GPU for some slightly graphic intensive work. The device also comes with up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM of memory and up to 1TB of PCIe M.2 SSD for storage.

As for the battery, the Slim 7 Carbon is fitted with a powerful 61WHrs battery that is capable of fast charging. In addition to that, the laptop also comes with an integrated Dolby Atmos Speaker System that provides an immersive audio experience.

The display on the Slim 7 Carbon is an OLED panel made by Samsung. It is a 14-inch 2.8K resolution screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio and thin bezels. The display offers stunning QHD+ visuals, with ultra-vivid picture quality with Dolby Vision and Display HDR TrueBlack 500.

The Slim 7 Carbon will come with Windows 11 from that factory with several other quality of life features like Alexa Show Mode and Windows Hello, just to name a few.

The Slim 7 Carbon is made of ultralight carbon fused with magnesium alloy for lightness and rigidity, measuring at only 14.9mm in thickness and weighs in at just 1.1kg, making it one of the lightest laptops in the industry. The Slim 7 Carbon only comes in Cloud Grey.

Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Pro

The Slim 7 Pro is a larger sibling of the Slim 7 Carbon, it has a larger screen and better GPU performance as it is targeted at content creators. The Slim 7 Pro is fitted with a 16-inch QHD IPS touch screen display with 2.5K resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio, and up to a max brightness of 500-nits when the 120Hz refresh rate configuration is selected. The display also has Dolby Vision, DisplayHDR 400 certification, and even support for 100 percent sRGB color gamut.

The Slim 7 Pro is powered with up to an AMD Ryzen 5800H CPU paired with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 GPU. The Slim 7 Pro also can be configured with up to 16GB of dual-channel DDR4 RAM and up to 1TB of PCIe M.2 storage. The Slim Pro also has a powerful 75WHr battery that is capable of fast charging. The Slim 7 pro also comes with several quality-of-life features like an integrated IR camera, and also hands-free Alexa.

The Slim 7 Pro’s chassis is also compact despite the screen and form factor, it is only 17.9mm thin and weighs in at around 2.1kg. The Slim 7 Pro comes in two different shades of Grey, either Cloud Grey or Storm Grey.

Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook

The Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook is a 13-inch 2-in 1 that runs on ChromeOS. It features an OLED display from Samsung which is capable of 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, with amplified brightness and higher contrast ratio. The simple ChromeOS operating system ensures the Duet 5 is able to boot up fast and has a long battery life of up to 15 hours with a 42WHr battery for better productivity while studying or web browsing. The Duet 5 Chromebook benefits from the Google ecosystem with its rich library of apps like YouTube and Google Play Store. The Duet 5 also comes with Google Assistant built-in.

The Duet 5 comes with touch and pen support with an included keyboard and stand. To just switch between the different usage modes, the user can just simply detach the screen and enjoy the Duet 5 in its tablet form or enjoy it as a laptop when connected to the keyboard. This device features a Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 chipset which gives the device its next-gen performance and efficiency. This 2-in-1 also comes equipped with up to 256GB of eMMC SSD storage space and up to 8GB LPDDR4x of RAM memory.

On the exterior the Duet 5 sports a dual-tone and narrow bezel design. Its footprint is thin and light, weighing in at around 700g and measured at around 7.24mm in thickness. The Duet 5 comes in two different colors, either in Storm Grey or Abyss Blue.
