Lenovo was quite quiet in 2016 when it comes to gaming laptops. Well, that’s not the case for this year as the company has announced a new gaming sub-brand, Lenovo Legion, to provide consumers the products, community engagement, and immersive experience that drive their passion for PC gaming.
Lenovo Legion Y720
The Legion Y720 is a 3.2kg laptop, which has up to a 15.6-inch UHD (3,840×2,160) IPS anti-glare display. Powering the laptop is the latest Intel Kaby Lake processor — Core i5-7300HQ or Core i7-7700HQ, with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5 graphics card.
In terms of memory, the laptop has up to 16GB DDR4 RAM with up to 512GB PCIe SSD or 2TB SATA HDD. It comes with two 2W JBL speakers and a 3W Dolby Atmos subwoofer.
The laptop has quite a few ports, which included USB Type-C Thunderbolt port and three USB 3.0 ports. Its 4-cell 60WHr battery claims to have up to 5 hours of battery life.
Lenovo Legion Y520
The Legion Y520 is a slight power down gaming laptop weighing at just 2.4kg. It has a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS anti-glare display, same size as the Y720. Powering the laptop is the latest Intel Core i7 Kaby Lake processor with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics card and up to 16GB DDR RAM. It also has the same storage option up to 512GB PCIe SSD or 2TB SATA HDD.
The laptop comes with two 2W Harman certified speakers with Dolby Audio Premium. It has a USB Type-C port, not a Thunderbolt port, though. Lenovo claims that its 3-cell 45WHr battery is able to provide up to 4 hours of battery life.
Unfortunately, there’s no news regarding both laptops pricing and availability in Malaysia at the moment. We’ll keep you update.
