Jetour has officially launched the new T2 i-DM plug-in hybrid SUV (PHEV) in Malaysia, with prices starting from RM162,800 nett, excluding road tax and insurance.
The new PHEV variant sits RM6,000 above the standard petrol-powered T2, which is priced at RM156,800, while remaining below the limited-edition T2 Dark Warrior at RM167,900. Ahead of its official launch, Jetour said the T2 i-DM had already secured more than 2,100 bookings.
Powering the Jetour T2 i-DM is a plug-in hybrid system comprising a 1.5-litre turbocharged direct-injection petrol engine, two electric motors and a 3-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT). The front-wheel-drive SUV produces a combined output of 360 PS and 610 Nm of torque.
The T2 i-DM comes with four driving modes, namely Sport, Economy, Standard and Snow, alongside dedicated EV and HEV modes. Power is supplied by an 18.4 kWh BYD Blade LFP battery, which provides more than 100 km of electric-only driving range. When combining the petrol engine and electric powertrain, the SUV offers a claimed total driving range of up to 1,200 km.
For charging, the T2 i-DM supports 57 kW DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 30% to 80% in around 27 minutes. With a 6.6 kW AC charger, a full charge takes less than three hours.
In terms of design, the PHEV retains the rugged styling of the standard petrol-powered T2. However, it is distinguished by a charging flap on the rear-right side, PHEV badging and 20-inch Trailblazer alloy wheels. Buyers can also opt for a Highway Grey Matte exterior finish.
Inside, the T2 i-DM receives several additional features, including an illuminated crystal gear knob, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror and side mirrors that automatically tilt when reversing. Other equipment carried over includes a large 15.6-inch infotainment display, a 12-speaker Sony sound system and a 50W wireless charging pad.
The SUV is also equipped with a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) package, providing a range of active safety and driver assistance features.
For peace of mind, the Jetour T2 i-DM comes with a seven-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty, while the high-voltage battery is covered for eight years or 160,000 km. The engine is covered by a 10-year or 1,000,000 km warranty, and the package also includes five free services.
For the first 2,000 registered units, early adopters can also choose from a promotional package worth up to RM3,000. This includes either a 7 kW AC wallbox charger or RM2,000 worth of ChargeSini credits, together with a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) adapter cable.
