Infinity CLUBZ 250 Portable Bluetooth Speaker Review

Introduction

Infinity CLUBZ 250 Portable Bluetooth Speaker Review_1

This is the Infinity CLUBZ 250 portable Bluetooth speaker, a lifestyle audio product by Infinity by HARMAN that won’t cost you much. I’ve been using and testing the speaker for a few weeks, and here’s the full review!

Unboxing

Design

The CLUBZ 250 has a fabric-like design wrapping around the body together with the rubber surface for its top and base. It’s actually a good choice of material as the product just feels more premium, instead of just the cheap plastic build.

On top of the speaker, you’ll find the controls — volume up/down, play/pause, and power button. The power button has the Infinity logo and it’s the only button to have LED. On the other side, there’s a hook so that you can tie it with a strap and carry it around since it’s actually quite portable.

Removing the flap at the bottom will reveal the AUX-in port and MicroUSB charging port. Yup, it doesn’t have a USB-C port, but it’s understandable since this is not really a new product.

User Experience

The pairing process is quite straight forward, you’ll have to use the traditional way to connect the speaker on your phone Bluetooth settings. The speaker will automatically enter into pairing mode when power on and wait for the device to connect.

Once connected, you can double press the play/pause button to activate Siri or Google Now on your phone. If you have two same speakers, you can actually enter true wireless stereo pairing mode by long-pressing the play/pause button.

It’s actually quite handy, especially if you are planning to bring this speaker to the pool for a pool party as the speaker is actually IPX7 waterproof. Though at the moment you can’t really have a party due to the pandemic.

Audio Quality

At such a small form factor, it was actually a surprise that the speaker is able to produce loud audio, thanks to the two 45mm drivers. The speaker comes with two modes, Infinity calls it the Dual Equalizer feature. You can switch between the modes by pressing the volume up and volume down buttons at the same time. In normal mode, everything is pretty flat. The deep bass mode will enhance the bass but you’ll also get distortion. If you often listen to instrumentals and acoustics, this might not be a good option.

Battery Life

The speaker has a 2,500mAh battery and it’ll take 4 hours to charge it since it only supports 5V/1A charging. In terms of battery life, I was able to get nearly 10 hours of battery life playing music at 50% volume. If you are playing music outdoor, don’t expect it to get 10 hours of battery life as 50% volume is not enough.

Final Words

Infinity CLUBZ 250 Portable Bluetooth Speaker Review_10

Retailing at RM229, the Infinity CLUBZ 250 portable Bluetooth speaker is an ideal speaker that you can carry around for all the parties you are attending. It has deep bass and the true wireless stereo pairing feature will definitely spice up the atmosphere. But once again, you won’t get to use it at the moment due to the pandemic, so just #stayathome. If you are interested in getting one, you can purchase it from its official Lazada store.

Yay

  • Compact form factor
