Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) has marked a major milestone at KLIMS 2026 with the official Malaysian debut of the highly anticipated IONIQ 5 N and IONIQ 6 N. The arrival of both high-performance electric vehicles brings Hyundai’s award-winning N performance division into the local EV market, offering enthusiasts a new level of driving excitement without compromising everyday usability.
IONIQ 5 N

Leading the charge is the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N, a model designed to challenge conventional perceptions of electric vehicles by delivering an engaging and emotional driving experience. Named the 2024 World Performance Car, the IONIQ 5 N combines track-focused engineering with advanced N-exclusive technologies that emulate the characteristics of a traditional high-performance combustion-powered vehicle.
Powering the IONIQ 5 N is a dual-motor setup capable of producing up to 650PS when N Grin Boost is activated, enabling a 0-100km/h sprint in just 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 260km/h. Despite its performance credentials, the EV still offers a WLTP-rated driving range of up to 448km. Its generous 3,000mm wheelbase also ensures ample practicality for family use.
Among its standout features are N e-Shift, which simulates the feel of an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, N Active Sound+, N Drift Optimiser, N Torque Distribution, N Launch Control, and N Grin Boost. The IONIQ 5 N is now available in Malaysia at RM443,888 and will be offered exclusively on a built-to-order basis.
IONIQ 6 N

Joining it is the newly launched Hyundai IONIQ 6 N, built on the sleek, aerodynamic IONIQ 6 platform. Recently crowned the 2026 World Performance Car, the performance sedan takes Hyundai N’s EV formula even further with a stronger emphasis on precision handling and aerodynamics. Featuring a drag coefficient of just 0.27Cd, the IONIQ 6 N is designed to excel both on winding roads and during daily commutes.
Like its SUV sibling, the IONIQ 6 N delivers up to 650PS with N Grin Boost engaged. It accelerates from 0-100km/h in only 3.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 257km/h. The model also offers an extended WLTP range of up to 487km and comes equipped with a stroke-sensing Electronically Controlled Suspension system, enhancing ride quality and driving dynamics.
The IONIQ 6 N is priced at RM449,888 and is also available exclusively through Hyundai’s built-to-order programme.
Customers interested in either model can place their orders through Hyundai N authorised dealers, including Sime Darby Auto Hyundai in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, Goh Brothers Motor in Penang, and Heng Lian Enterprise in Kuching. Hyundai says additional dealer locations will be announced in the future.
