Huawei has officially introduced its latest flagship lineup at the HUAWEI Global Flagship Product Launch in Malaysia, unveiling the HUAWEI Pura 90s Series, alongside the HUAWEI FreeClip 2 S and the new HUAWEI MatePad Air. The new products focus on enhancing photography, productivity and everyday connectivity with AI-powered features and refined designs.
HUAWEI Pura 90s Series
Leading the launch are the HUAWEI Pura 90s Pro Max and HUAWEI Pura 90s Pro, both built around Huawei’s “Now is Your Moment” philosophy. The new flagship smartphones aim to elevate mobile photography through upgraded camera hardware, intelligent software, and an improved user experience.
The HUAWEI Pura 90s Pro Max is equipped with a 200MP Ultra Large Sensor Telephoto Camera, featuring a 1/1.28-inch RYYB sensor, 4x optical zoom, Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), and support for up to 20x HEX Telephoto Video. This setup is designed to capture distant subjects with greater clarity, whether at concerts, sporting events, or other long-range scenarios. Meanwhile, the Pura 90s Pro features an Ultra Lighting Macro Telephoto Camera that focuses as close as 5cm, allowing users to capture detailed close-up shots with ease. Both devices also incorporate Huawei’s Ultra Lighting camera technology for improved image quality.
Beyond the hardware, Huawei has integrated a suite of AI-powered photography tools into the Pura 90s Series. AI Composition helps users frame better shots, while AI De-Glare removes unwanted reflections when shooting through glass. Users can also reposition subjects using AI Move, erase distractions with AI Remove, and rely on AI Best Expression to automatically select the best facial expressions from multiple frames. Completing the photography package is Huawei’s second-generation True-to-Colour Camera, which aims to deliver more natural colours under different lighting conditions.
Huawei has also focused on connectivity and software. The Pura 90s Series is designed to provide stable network performance across different environments, helping users stay connected whether in busy city centres or remote areas. Running on EMUI 16, the smartphones introduce a more connected ecosystem with improved usability, supported by the Celia AI Assistant and Huawei AppGallery for access to essential applications and services.
In terms of design, the HUAWEI Pura 90s Pro Max is offered in Orange Ocean, Blaze Purple, Blush Gold, and Graphite Black, with the Orange Ocean variant featuring Huawei’s new Dual-Tone Gradient Mid-Frame. The Pura 90s Pro comes in Guava Soda, Orange Soda, Mulberry Black, and Coconut White colour options. Both smartphones pack a 6,000mAh battery, with the Pro Max supporting 100W HUAWEI SuperCharge while the Pro supports 66W HUAWEI SuperCharge. The Pro Max also features Anti-Reflection Scratch-Resistant Kunlun Glass for added durability and reduced glare.
HUAWEI FreeClip 2 S
Huawei also introduced the HUAWEI FreeClip 2 S, its latest open-ear wireless earbuds. Featuring a metallic finish available in Deepsea Blue and Space Silver, the earbuds retain Huawei’s open-ear design for greater environmental awareness while delivering clear audio. The redesigned Airy C-Bridge and Luminous Charging Case are also aimed at improving comfort and everyday usability.
HUAWEI MatePad Air (2026)
For users seeking a lightweight productivity device, Huawei unveiled the new HUAWEI MatePad Air. Measuring just 5.3mm thin, the tablet features an Ultra-clear OLED PaperMatte Display, AI-powered productivity tools and PC-level multitasking features designed to support content creation, work and entertainment in a portable form factor.
