Huawei has officially introduced the new HUAWEI nova 15 Max in Malaysia, a smartphone focused on three key areas: battery life, display quality, and durability. Positioned under the brand’s “Max Your Fun” philosophy, the device is designed for users who need a phone that can keep up with long workdays, entertainment sessions, and daily connectivity without frequent charging.

The HUAWEI nova 15 Max features a large 6.84-inch Full-View display with slim bezels and the company’s signature Star Ring camera module accented by a distinctive red ring. Despite housing a massive battery, the phone maintains a relatively slim 7.98mm profile and is offered in Blush Gold and Golden Black.

One of the biggest highlights is the 8,500mAh HUAWEI Super Battery, which Huawei claims is the largest battery ever fitted into one of its smartphones. The company says the battery is capable of delivering up to 23 hours of continuous video playback, while Huawei’s Energy Booster Technology helps optimise power efficiency through intelligent battery management. The device also supports reverse charging, allowing users to share power with compatible Huawei accessories such as earbuds and tablets.

Durability is another major focus. The nova 15 Max comes with an extra-durable body and has received SGS Premium Performance Mark Drop Resistance 5-Star certification. It also carries an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance, providing added protection against everyday accidents and outdoor use. Huawei has further included Splash Touch and Touch Optimisation technologies to maintain responsive touchscreen performance even when the display or users’ hands are wet.

The smartphone introduces several convenience-focused AI features through its new X-Button. Users can customise the button to quickly launch apps and functions with a single press, while double-tap and long-press gestures can be assigned to frequently used services. Huawei highlights support for AI applications such as Gemini, alongside popular apps including WhatsApp and Touch ‘n Go eWallet.

For connectivity, the nova 15 Max supports Wi-Fi 7 with 2×2 MIMO and Bluetooth 5.2. Huawei has also integrated Privacy Centre and Security Centre features, giving users greater control over app permissions and device security settings.

On the multimedia front, the device is equipped with a 6.84-inch Vivid OLED Eye Comfort display featuring a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to 4,000 nits peak brightness for improved outdoor visibility. Huawei has also included 2,160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming to reduce eye strain during extended usage.

Audio performance is handled by symmetrical stereo dual speakers paired with a 90-degree ultra-wide soundstage. The phone also includes Volume Boost Mode, which enhances audio output in noisy environments.

Photography duties are handled by a 50MP RYYB Ultra Vision Camera designed to improve low-light image quality. Huawei complements the camera hardware with AI-powered features such as AI XD Portrait and AI Best Expression to help users capture more natural portraits and better group shots.
