Introduction
Android tablets are dead? At least that’s not the case for HUAWEI as the company is currently selling different tablets in the market. This is the HUAWEI MatePad T 10s, an affordable 10-inch tablet that the company recently launched. Without further ado, here’s the full review!

Video Review
Design
The HUAWEI MatePad T 10s shares the same design language as the MatePad Pro, but it has thicker bezels around. I actually kinda prefer the front camera is located on top of the screen instead of having the camera cutout at the corner like the MatePad Pro I reviewed before. Just keep in mind when you are holding the tablet in portrait mode, your right thumb might accidentally block the light sensor, which will decrease the brightness if you set your screen to auto-brightness.
Display
It has a 10.1-inch Full HD+IPS display, not as good as the one on the MatePad Pro but definitely good enough for you to watch videos and browse the web. I don’t really have many complaints about the screen, and it has two speakers on each side, which actually improves the overall experience, just make sure you don’t keep the volume at a maximum level as you’ll hear distortion.
Performance
The tablet is powered by a Kirin 710A processor with 3GB RAM and 64GB expandable storage. Yup, it was a relatively old processor, which means the performance won’t be a strong point for this tablet, I don’t really recommend you to play games on this tablet.
Software
It runs on EMUI 10.1 based on Android 10 without GMS, you’ll need to rely on HUAWEI AppGallery or a third-party app store to download the apps. There are some features missing from the MatePad Pro. I don’t really understand why HUAWEI removed the MeeTime feature since you can actually insert your SIM and straight away make a phone call. Another feature missing is the Multi-Screen Collaboration, at least you still get the split-screen feature. The tablet only has 3GB RAM, though, better do one thing at a time.
Battery Life
The MatePad T 10s packs a 5,100mAh battery without any fast charging solution. Based on my usage, I was able to get around 6 hours of screen-on-time, not as good as the MatePad Pro’s 10 hours screen-on-time, but you don’t really have that much time to watch videos a day, isn’t it?
Final Words
Retailing at RM999, it’s hard for me to recommend the tablet as it has an outdated processor and only 64GB storage. However, if you are using a tablet just to read articles and watch videos, it’s actually a good option. For more info, please click here.
