Last year, we reviewed the HUAWEI MatePad Pro, which is a good alternative to a basic laptop if you are using your laptop just for web browsing, typing docs, and Netflix. Just recently, HUAWEI has announced the new HarmonyOS 2, alongside some new products. The HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.6-inch is one of the new products to run on the latest HarmonyOS 2, and the tablet is set to launch on June 10th.
The HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.6-inch sports a 12.6-inch WQXGA OLED display, which is bigger than the original MatePad Pro. With HarmonyOS 2, the tablet now comes with a more organized tablet desktop, featuring the new Bottom Dock and Service Widgets to provide new ways for users to view important information more efficiently. The new and improved App Multiplier and Multi-Window features make multi-tasking more seamless than ever.
The tablet is powered by a Kirin 9000E processor with 8GB RAM and 256GB expandable storage. It also packs a 10,050mAh battery that supports wired and wireless fast charging at 40W and 27W respectively. The tablet also supports reverse wired and wireless charging capabilities at 5W and 10W respectively.
The HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.6-inch packs a dual-camera setup on the back — 13MP main + 8MP ultra-wide. There’s also a 3D Depth Sensing camera as well. This time around, it doesn’t come with a hole-punch front camera. The company has placed its 8MP front-facing camera on top of the display, just like most laptops nowadays.
Additionally, HUAWEI has also announced the 2nd generation HUAWEI M-Pencil which offers a pencil-like natural writing experience with the new platinum-coated pen nib, low latency, and support for 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity.
The new HUAWEI Smart Magnetic Keyboard is a full-sized keyboard that features key travel of 1.3mm to deliver satisfying typing experiences. Supporting Bluetooth and wireless charging, the magnetically paired keyboard synergizes with the HUAWEI MatePad Pro to boost the productivity of any office user.
At the moment, the pricing of the HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.6-inch remains unknown. Stay tuned as the launch will be taking place on June 10th.
