Huawei Malaysia has officially introduced two new additions to its ecosystem lineup — the HUAWEI MatePad Mini and HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2. Designed to cater to users seeking portability and performance, the new tablet and smartwatch bring a mix of compact productivity and advanced fitness tracking to the Malaysian market.
HUAWEI MatePad Mini
The HUAWEI MatePad Mini introduces Huawei’s “All-in-Mini” concept, combining performance, versatility, and immersive experiences into a highly portable form factor. Measuring just 5.2mm thin and weighing around 260g, the tablet is engineered for users who need productivity on the go without compromising usability.
Huawei’s human-centric design approach is reflected in its 16:10 aspect ratio, which mimics the feel of a printed book — making it ideal for reading, note-taking, and multitasking in both portrait and landscape orientations. Despite its slim profile, the tablet features a reinforced internal structure using aerospace-grade materials for improved durability.
At the front, the device packs an 8.8-inch Flexible OLED PaperMatte Display, offering a 2.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 1,800 nits peak brightness. With support for the P3 wide colour gamut and a 92% screen-to-body ratio, the display delivers vibrant visuals while minimising glare thanks to Huawei’s PaperMatte technology.
Built to integrate seamlessly within Huawei’s ecosystem, the MatePad Mini supports enhanced note-taking and stylus functionality. The included HUAWEI M-Pencil Pro adds features such as advanced handwriting interaction, a Star Ring shortcut button, and intuitive gesture controls like pinch and rotation.
On the hardware front, the tablet is equipped with a 50MP rear camera and a 32MP front camera, alongside a 6,400mAh battery with 66W HUAWEI SuperCharge support.
The HUAWEI MatePad Mini is priced at RM2,199, with pre-order customers receiving bundled gifts worth up to RM2,014, including the M-Pencil Pro, folio cover, and extended warranty benefits. HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2
Alongside the tablet, Huawei also launched the HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2, a smartwatch designed specifically for runners under the concept of the “Aesthetic of Speed.”
The device features Huawei’s most advanced multi-system GNSS tracking, ensuring high-precision positioning even in challenging environments such as dense urban areas or forest trails. A newly introduced 3D floating antenna system, combined with an intelligent X-DR positioning algorithm, enhances signal stability and tracking accuracy across various terrains.
One of the standout features is the Intelligent Marathon Mode, developed in collaboration with the DSM-Firmenich Running Team and marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge. This mode provides runners with personalised training plans, real-time pacing guidance, and detailed post-run analysis — helping users train more efficiently and safely.
The WATCH GT Runner 2 also delivers in-depth performance metrics, including running power analysis, lactate threshold detection, and Running Ability Index, alongside accurate heart rate monitoring.
Crafted from aerospace-grade titanium alloy, the smartwatch weighs just 34.5g, making it lightweight yet durable. It is also water-resistant and built to withstand sweat, rain, and daily wear, ensuring reliability in different running conditions.
Beyond running, the smartwatch supports over 100 sports modes — including specialised activities like golf and trail running — and offers up to 14 days of battery life.
