HUAWEI Malaysia is gearing up to expand its ecosystem once again with the upcoming launch of two new devices — the HUAWEI MatePad Mini and the HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2. Both products are designed to deliver smarter, more intuitive experiences, while aligning with Huawei’s vision of a more streamlined and minimalist digital lifestyle.
HUAWEI MatePad Mini
Leading the announcement is the MatePad Mini, which aims to redefine expectations for compact tablets. Built with mobility in mind, the device features an ultra-lightweight and ultra-thin design, making it one of the most portable tablets in its class. Despite its compact form factor, Huawei is positioning it as a capable productivity and creativity tool that fits seamlessly into everyday use.
At the core of the experience is an 8.8-inch Flexible OLED PaperMatte Display, offering vivid visuals while reducing glare and eye strain. This gives users a more comfortable, paper-like viewing experience, whether they are reading, streaming, or working on creative projects. The display adapts well across different environments, making it suitable for extended use throughout the day.
Complementing the hardware is Huawei’s growing ecosystem of productivity tools. The MatePad Mini supports the HUAWEI M-Pencil Pro, alongside apps like HUAWEI Notes and GoPaint, enabling fluid note-taking, sketching, and multitasking. These features work together to create a seamless workflow, allowing users to capture ideas and execute tasks efficiently, whether for work or study. The tablet is also equipped with essential productivity features such as WPS Office, along with capable imaging and long-lasting battery performance, rounding out a well-balanced portable device.
Consumers who pre-order the MatePad Mini will receive complimentary gifts worth up to RM2,014. These include an early bird voucher worth RM200, the HUAWEI M-Pencil Pro, a MatePad Mini Folio Cover, PC Level WPS 3.0, a three-year one-time free battery replacement, one-year PaperMatte Display Care, and a one-year APAC warranty. HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2
Alongside the tablet, Huawei is also introducing the WATCH GT Runner 2, a next-generation smartwatch designed specifically for runners and fitness enthusiasts who demand precision and intelligent performance tracking. The wearable brings a host of advanced running technologies, including ultra-precise positioning and professional-grade metrics that enable users to train more effectively with data-driven insights.
A standout feature of the WATCH GT Runner 2 is its innovative 3D floating antenna design, which integrates a metal middle frame, dielectric bezel, and titanium bezel. This setup enhances signal reception and energy efficiency, ensuring consistent tracking performance even in challenging environments such as dense urban areas, tunnels, or shaded trails. Huawei has also introduced an intelligent fusion positioning algorithm that combines data from multiple sensors, allowing the watch to accurately reconstruct running routes even when GPS signals are temporarily lost.
The smartwatch is also expected to feature an advanced Marathon mode, developed in collaboration with the DSM-Firmenich Running Team, including legendary marathoner Eliud Kipchoge. This feature provides deeper performance insights, helping users optimise their training from preparation and pacing to recovery.
Despite its advanced capabilities, the WATCH GT Runner 2 maintains a lightweight and ergonomic design, weighing just 34.5g (43.5g with strap), making it one of the lightest metal running watches available. It is offered in three sky-inspired colour options: Dawn Orange, Dusk Blue, and Midnight Black.
Pre-orders for the WATCH GT Runner 2 will come with complimentary gifts worth up to RM1,480, including the HUAWEI FreeArc, a one-year APAC warranty, an additional Fluoroelastomer Watch Strap, and HUAWEI Health MultiPass. These offers will be available through Huawei’s official online channels, including its website and official stores on Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop.
HUAWEI Malaysia has confirmed that both devices will officially launch on 21 April 2026. With a strong focus on portability, productivity, and intelligent performance, the MatePad Mini and WATCH GT Runner 2 are set to further strengthen Huawei’s ecosystem, offering users more seamless ways to work, create, and stay active in their daily lives.
