HUAWEI MateBook D 16 and MateBook 16s Officially Launched

HUAWEI had recently officially launched the MateBook D 16 and MateBook 16s at its APAC Smart Office Launch 2022 event. Both laptops are powered by the latest 12th Gen Intel Core H-series processor.

MateBook D 16

The MateBook D 16 sports a 16-inch Full HD (1,920 x 1,200) IPS display with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The screen has a maximum brightness of 300 nits and supports a 100% sRGB color gamut. Powering the laptop is up to the 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12700H processor with up to 16GB LPDDR4x RAM and 512GB NVMe PCIe SSD.

HUAWEI mentioned that users don’t need to worry about overheating issues as the laptop comes with a HUAWEI Shark fin Fan cooling system. Weighing 1.7kg, the laptop has a 1.5mm key travel and a soft-landing design – inspired by space probes – to make all-day typing easy. The new individual numeric keypad enables users to work with charts, data, and documents more efficiently, while the physical shortcut keys allow direct access to frequently used functions for higher productivity.

The laptop packs a 60Wh battery and the only way to charge it is via the USB-C port. Priced from RM3,699, it is available for pre-order from today until 5 August 2022 with freebies worth up to RM1,028:

MateBook 16s

The MateBook 16s is a more premium laptop, it sports a 16-inch 2.5K (2,520 × 1,680) IPS TruColor touch display with a 3:2 aspect ratio. Powering the laptop is the 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12700H processor with 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD.

The laptop also comes with a soft-landing design for the keys where there is a cushion for the switches as they are being pressed, slowing them down before they land. Unlike the D 16, it actually features a Thunderbolt 4 USB-C port for you to output two 4K monitors or an 8K monitor.

The laptop packs a larger 84Wh battery and you can use the included 90W charging adapter to charge it via the USB-C port. Retailing at RM6,799, it is also now available for pre-order until 5 August 2022 on Lazada and Shopee. Each pre-order will get a free HUAWEI Stylish Backpack worth RM499, a pre-installed Office Home & Student 2021 worth RM529, and HUAWEI Sound Joy worth RM699.
