HP has announced the availability of HP Print AI in Malaysia, introducing AI-powered printing features designed to make everyday printing easier while reducing wasted paper, ink, and unnecessary reprints.

According to HP, more than half of print jobs in homes and offices today originate from the web, including online articles, travel information, recipes and how-to guides. However, content that looks fine on a screen can often result in awkward spacing, incorrectly sized images or unnecessary pages when printed.

HP Print AI is designed to reduce this trial-and-error process, helping users get closer to the intended result on their first print.

Cleaning Up Web Content Before Printing

One of the key features is HP Precise Print, which is designed to address some of the common frustrations associated with printing web content.

The feature automatically removes unwanted advertisements, adjusts awkward spacing and improves image sizing before the document is printed. This is intended to produce cleaner and more readable pages while reducing the need for manual formatting and reprints.

With more everyday information being accessed online, the feature could make printing web-based content more straightforward for users who regularly print articles, recipes, travel details and guides.

AI-Powered Support

HP Print AI also introduces more personalised support throughout the printer setup and usage experience.

The intelligent technology can guide users through the printer setup process and uses natural language and contextual awareness to tailor its assistance. It can also remember users’ preferences and previous questions, allowing it to provide more customised support when required.

HP says this is part of its wider approach towards making printers more AI-ready, rather than relying solely on traditional printing workflows.

“Printing has always been part of how people work, learn and create but the way we find and use information has changed,” said Paul Gracey, Vice President and Head of Greater Asia Print Category, HP Inc.

“HP Print AI helps solve those everyday frustrations now, while giving customers a printer that is ready for what comes next.”

HP Scan AI Enhanced for Businesses

For commercial users, HP has also announced the expanded availability of HP Scan AI Enhanced in Malaysia.

The cloud-based, AI-driven document processing solution can recognise the type of documents being scanned and extract key information based on a customer’s specific business requirements. By reducing manual data entry and other repetitive steps, HP says the solution can help businesses save time and costs.

HP cites a major retail group with 300 locations in Italy as an example, where the implementation of HP Scan AI Enhanced in its delivery and inventory workflow resulted in an 80% reduction in labour costs.
