HONOR has given Malaysians an unexpected first look at its upcoming HONOR X9e Pro, with the unlaunched smartphone making a surprise appearance during the National Day Parade in Putrajaya.
Held on 31 August, the event marked a notable milestone for HONOR as it became the first smartphone brand to participate as an official parade contingent in Malaysia’s National Day celebration. The brand’s contingent of nearly 50 representatives was led by the HONOR Robotics D1 humanoid robot, while the unreleased HONOR X9e Pro was spotted in a striking dark purple finish.
HONOR X9e Pro Gets an Early Public Appearance
While HONOR has yet to officially launch the X9e Pro in Malaysia, its appearance during the parade has already given the public a first glimpse of the upcoming X Series smartphone.
The unexpected reveal quickly caught the attention of spectators and netizens, with many identifying the device as the new X Series model. HONOR says the X9e Pro will introduce comprehensive upgrades while continuing the durability-focused approach associated with the X Series.
For now, the company is keeping the smartphone’s specifications and other details under wraps. However, the dark purple finish and design showcased during the parade have already generated interest ahead of its official launch.
HONOR has not yet revealed details such as the X9e Pro’s display, chipset, cameras, battery capacity or pricing, so these remain under wraps for the time being.
The company has encouraged consumers to stay tuned to HONOR Malaysia’s official channels for further updates on the upcoming smartphone.
HONOR Robotics D1 Leads the Parade Contingent
Alongside the HONOR X9e Pro, HONOR also placed its robotics technology in the spotlight with the HONOR Robotics D1 leading the brand’s National Day Parade contingent.
The appearance came shortly after D1 completed a 10km public road run at the Malaysia Marathon 2026 in Kuala Lumpur on 30 August. The robot completed the route from Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, passing several of the city’s landmarks, including KL Tower, Menara Maybank, Dataran Merdeka and the Petronas Twin Towers.
Following the achievement, D1 received an Asia Records title for being the “First Humanoid Robot to Complete a 10KM Public Road Run and March in a National Day Parade”. The recognition was presented by ASEAN Records Managing Director Eldrick Koh to HONOR Malaysia Chief Executive Officer Ethan Chen.
This was also D1’s first appearance outside China. Before coming to Malaysia, the humanoid robot had reportedly completed the Beijing Yizhuang Humanoid Robot Half Marathon in 50 minutes and 26 seconds, reaching a peak speed of 14.5 metres per second.
More HONOR Experiences in Putrajaya
HONOR also brought several interactive experiences to its booth at Dataran Putrajaya, where visitors could get hands-on with the brand’s latest devices.
One of the highlights was the HONOR Magic V6 Strongman Challenge, which challenged participants to hang from a pull-up bar for 60 seconds while putting the smartphone’s hinge durability to the test.
For now, the HONOR X9e Pro remains officially unlaunched, but its appearance at one of Malaysia’s biggest national celebrations has certainly put the upcoming smartphone on the radar.
With HONOR keeping the specifications and launch details under wraps, more information about the X9e Pro is expected to be revealed through HONOR Malaysia’s official channels in the coming weeks.
