HONOR has officially launched the HONOR Robot Phone in China, introducing what the company describes as a new category of smartphones that combines mobile imaging, robotics and embodied AI. The device features a fully motorised mechanical gimbal integrated directly into the smartphone, allowing its camera to physically move and track subjects while recording.
The launch also marks the first product milestone from HONOR’s Cinematic Imaging Partnership with ARRI, bringing selected elements of ARRI’s professional image science and cinema workflows to a smartphone.
At the heart of the HONOR Robot Phone is its HONOR Titanium Agile Gimbal, an ultra-compact 4DoF mechanical system developed through 60 manufacturing processes. The mechanism incorporates more than 100 precision components and is backed by more than 100 patents.
HONOR says it has reduced the system’s overall size by 65% compared with mainstream gimbals, while increasing structural strength by 200%.
The 2.6g titanium gimbal motor can achieve control speeds of up to 360° per second, while the HONOR Super Steel Flip Motor delivers a torque density of 120 N·m/L. These components allow the camera to move quickly and precisely while maintaining a pocketable smartphone form factor.
The Robot Phone is equipped with a Dual 200MP rear camera system. Its main camera is a 200MP Agile Gimbal Main Camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor and f/1.6 aperture, while a 200MP Periscope Telephoto Camera features a 1/1.4-inch sensor and 2.7x optical zoom.
The camera system is complemented by a 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 122-degree field of view.
Through the HONOR–ARRI Cinematic Imaging Partnership, the main camera supports 10-bit ARRI LogC3 recording in ARRI CINEMA mode. The system also incorporates ARRI Wide Gamut 3 and ARRI Looks alongside HONOR’s H1 Image Chip.
HONOR says AI noise reduction can improve video signal-to-noise ratio by up to 8dB, while AI dynamic range optimisation supports up to 14 stops of dynamic range.
The video pipeline processes image data earlier in the RAW domain, using 14-bit 4:4:4 processing before outputting 10-bit LogC3 and 4:2:2 video. ARRI Looks can also be previewed in real time, while recorded footage can be brought into professional editing software such as DaVinci Resolve for further post-production.
The collaboration between HONOR and ARRI will also continue with the upcoming HONOR Magic9 Series, where the companies will further develop their cinematic imaging technologies and workflows.
Beyond imaging, the HONOR Robot Phone combines its motorised camera system with MagicOS to deliver what HONOR calls multimodal embodied interaction.
Its YOYO Robot Mode combines multimodal perception, contextual understanding and gesture recognition with physical camera movement. The camera arm supports several shooting modes, including Tilt Lock, First Person View (FPV), FPV Vertical and AI SpinShot.
Voice Source Localization and AI Live-Tracking allow the camera to automatically pan and tilt to keep users in frame while recording vlogs, livestreaming, or participating in video calls.
Users can also control the camera through hands-free gestures, including deploying the camera arm and capturing footage without physically touching the phone.
The device’s YOYO Auto Execution feature further expands its AI capabilities by allowing the system-level AI agent to understand user intent and perform multi-step tasks across supported applications and system settings.
HONOR is also opening up the Robot Phone’s capabilities to third-party developers through its Agent Skills interface, enabling developers to create experiences that make use of the device’s gimbal, perception, and embodied interaction features.
The HONOR Robot Phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, providing the processing power required for AI, imaging and multitasking.
HONOR has also developed a custom cooling system designed to manage heat during demanding tasks such as extended video recording.
Powering the device is a 7,060mAh next-generation HONOR Silicon-carbon Battery, supported by 120W wired and 50W wireless HONOR SuperCharge.
The smartphone features an all-metal integrated-moulding unibody design and a 6.31-inch LTPO OLED HONOR AI Eye Comfort Display. The panel supports an adaptive 1–120Hz refresh rate and up to 6,800 nits peak brightness, while 4,320Hz PWM dimming is included as part of its eye-comfort features. The display is protected by HONOR NanoCrystal Shield.
The HONOR Robot Phone was first showcased publicly at MWC 2026 in March before making further appearances at events including Cannes Film Festival’s China Night and the 28th Shanghai International Film Festival, where its stabilised tracking capabilities were demonstrated.
With its commercial launch now underway, HONOR is positioning the Robot Phone as a device designed to make more advanced, professional-style filmmaking capabilities accessible to everyday users.

Alongside the Robot Phone launch, HONOR Malaysia has announced a new brand logo and the “Dare to Be” slogan.
According to HONOR, the refreshed identity reflects its evolution from a smartphone maker into an AI device ecosystem company, with a focus spanning artificial intelligence, robotics, imaging and cross-device connectivity.
The “Dare to Be” slogan represents HONOR’s positioning around challenging conventions and turning new ideas into reality, as the company expands its product ecosystem beyond smartphones.
The brand also highlighted its work across computational photography, cinematic imaging, Agentic OS, and humanoid robotics as part of its broader vision for an AI-powered future.
HONOR says it aims to position itself not only as a technology company, but also as a companion for a younger generation as it explores new forms of AI-enabled interaction.
