HONOR is preparing to launch its next-generation foldable smartphone, the HONOR Magic V5, in China on July 2, 2025, with official teasers showcasing its ultra-slim design. The company appears poised to reclaim the title of world’s thinnest foldable, with the device measuring just 8.8mm when folded, matching the thickness of conventional flagship smartphones like HONOR’s own Magic7 Pro.
According to the company’s official Weibo, the HONOR Magic V5 features a premium gold color option with a distinctive textured back panel and hinge mechanism. The camera system makes a bold statement with a large rectangular island housing three lenses, likely maintaining the main, telephoto, and ultra-wide configuration of its predecessor. Industry rumors suggest the telephoto lens may receive a significant upgrade to 200MP resolution.
The foldable is expected to feature an 8-inch main display when unfolded and a 6.45-inch cover screen, powered by Qualcomm’s top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version processor. Battery capacity is rumored at 6,100mAh with 66W fast charging support, balancing the slim form factor with respectable endurance.
While initially launching in China, HONOR has hinted at a global release, potentially following a similar timeline to last year’s Magic V3, which arrived in international markets a few months after its Chinese debut.
