HONOR 50 Series Officially Announced

HONOR is back! After a few months of preparation, the company has announced the HONOR 50 series. This time around, the company announced three devices — HONOR 50 Pro, HONOR 50, and HONOR SE.

HONOR 50 Pro

The HONOR 50 Pro is the star in the HONOR 50 series. It sports a 6.72-inch Full HD+ OLED curved display with a 120Hz refresh rate and an in-display fingerprint sensor. For the first time in a while, the phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G processor with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

In terms of camera, the phone packs a quad-camera setup — 108MP main + 8MP ultra-wide + 2MP macro + 2MP depth sensor. Like the Mate40 Pro we reviewed before, it has two front-facing cameras consisting of 32MP and 12MP sensors.

The HONOR 50 Pro packs a 4,000mAh with 100W fast charging. The phone runs on Magic UI 4.2 based on Android 11, and yes, it comes with Google Mobile Services (GMS)!

HONOR 50

Next up in the HONOR 50 series is the HONOR 50, which offers mostly the same features and hardware as the Pro. It has a smaller screen at 6.57-inch and the battery is slightly larger at 4,300mAh, though it only supports 66W fast charging. It has the same camera setup on the back as the Pro, but there’s now only a single 32MP selfie camera on the front.

HONOR 50 SE

The HONOR 50 SE is the most affordable one in the HONOR 50 series. It packs a 6.78-inch Full HD+ LTPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Since it’s using an LCD panel, having an in-display fingerprint sensor is not possible. Hence, the phone has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor instead.

Powering the phone is a MediaTek Dimensity 900 processor with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. The phone has a triple-camera setup — 108MP main + 8MP ultra-wide + 2MP macro. As for taking selfies, it has a 16MP front-facing camera.

The phone packs a 4,000mAh battery that also supports 66W fast charging. It also runs on Magic UI 4.2 based on Android 11 with GMS.

HONOR has confirmed that the HONOR 50 series will be available globally and Malaysia will be getting it as well! Stay tuned as we will keep you posted once we got any news from HONOR Malaysia.
