Dyson has officially introduced the new Dyson Supersonic Travel hair dryer in Malaysia, bringing its signature hair care technology into a more compact and travel-friendly form factor. Designed for frequent travellers and users who want salon-quality styling on the go, the new model is 32% smaller and 25% lighter than the original Dyson Supersonic hair dryer while maintaining the brand’s fast-drying performance and hair protection technologies.

According to Dyson, the Supersonic Travel is engineered to deliver consistent styling results worldwide thanks to its automatic global voltage compatibility. Whether it is a post-workout touch-up, a weekend getaway, or a long-haul international trip, users can enjoy the same high-performance drying experience without carrying a bulky appliance.

The new model weighs just 330g, making it lighter than a typical 500ml bottle of water and easy to fit into handbags, carry-on luggage, and travel bags. Despite its compact size, Dyson says the Supersonic Travel retains the airflow performance that has made the Supersonic series popular among consumers and professional stylists alike.

A key advantage of the Supersonic Travel is its compatibility with attachments from existing Dyson Supersonic and Dyson Supersonic Nural hair dryers. This allows existing Dyson users to bring along their preferred styling accessories without needing to purchase a separate set for travel.

Hair protection remains a core focus of the new device. Like its larger counterparts, the Supersonic Travel features Dyson’s intelligent heat control technology, which monitors airflow temperature 100 times every second to prevent extreme heat exposure. By maintaining optimal temperatures, the dryer helps reduce heat-related damage while preserving hair smoothness, shine, and overall health.

Dyson’s approach to hair care is rooted in years of research into hair biology and scalp health. Excessive heat is known to weaken hair fibres by degrading keratin, while changing environmental conditions during travel can affect both hair and scalp condition. The company’s intelligent heat management system is designed to minimise these effects, helping users maintain healthier-looking hair wherever they travel.

The launch of the Supersonic Travel continues Dyson’s broader evolution in the beauty technology segment. Since introducing the original Supersonic hair dryer in 2016, the company has expanded its portfolio with products such as the Airwrap, Corrale, Airstrait, and Supersonic Nural, each focused on combining advanced engineering with hair health benefits.

Global Styling Ambassador Irinel de Leon noted that travel-friendly hairstyles are increasingly trending, with effortless looks such as air-sculpted waves becoming more popular among travellers. The precise airflow and styling capabilities of the Supersonic Travel are designed to help users achieve polished results while maintaining natural shine, even in challenging environments such as humid destinations or dry cabin air.

The Dyson Supersonic Travel hair dryer is now available in Malaysia at a retail price of RM1,399 through Dyson stores and authorised channels nationwide. You can purchase it from the official website here.
