BMW Malaysia Unveils the New BMW X3 sDrive20i

Sharing the limelight with the newly launched BMW 330Li M Sport is the locally assembled new BMW X3 sDrive20i, adding to BMW Malaysia’s burgeoning portfolio of Sports Activity Vehicles (SAV) in the local market.

The new CKD BMW X3 sDrive20i is the base level variant of the BMW X3 premium Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) line-up. Not to be shown up by its other siblings in the stable, the X3 sDrive20i sports the trademark BMW kidney grille and xLine package, which includes LED headlights and cornering lights. One will also find 19-inch alloy wheels in Y-spoke style 694 with run-flat tires on all four corners. The exterior of the X3 sDrive20i is accentuated in aluminum trim, and the BMW Individual Exterior Line and roof rails are in an Aluminium Satinated finish.

At the heart of the BMW X3 sDrive20i is the TwinPower Turbo four-pot petrol engine with a maximum power output of 184hp at 5,000 – 6,500rpm and peak torque of 300Nm arrives at 1,350 – 4,000rpm, allowing the X3 to reach 0-100km/h in 8.2 seconds and a top speed of 215km/h. Sending power to the wheels is an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission with Automatic Hold functionality. Other technical specifications are a fuel consumption of 7.1l/100km and a rated 163g/km in carbon emissions.

On the inside, the BMW X3 sDrive20i comes furnished with Black High Gloss finishers and Pearl Chrome highlights, and both exterior and interior mirrors have an automatic anti-dazzle function. The interior also features ambient lighting, three-zone automatic air-conditioning, electronic adjustment with memory function for the driver’s seat, and a 12-speaker HiFi sound system. Rounding up the extensive list of interior features is a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display with BMW Live Cockpit Plus and BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant functions.

As for safety features, the X3 sDrive20i packs in Parking Assistant and Driving Assistant, the latter which includes lane departure warning, lane change warning, front collision warning, cross-traffic warning, and rear collision prevention. In addition, owners are provided with safety and convenience with the Intelligent Emergency Call with extended smartphone connection function.

On the digital interaction side, BMW is launching their new My BMW App – which replaces the current BMW Connected App in July this year – with easy access to a broad range of remote services, on-the-go navigation, and e-mobility features all from your iOS or Android device.

The BMW X3 sDrive20i will be launched in four colors – Alpine White, Glacier Silver, Black Sapphire, and Phytonic Blue. All exterior color options are paired with black leather Vernasa upholstery with black stitching.

The new CKD BMW X3 sDrive20i will have a retail price of RM286,674 (on-the-road, without insurance) which is inclusive of an extended warranty and service package, and Sales and Service Tax (SST), and is now available for purchase at all authorized BMW dealerships in Peninsular Malaysia, while it will be available in East Malaysia starting 20th April 2021. Owners of the X3 sDrive20i will benefit from the BMW Group Malaysia Premium Ownership experience, inclusive of a 5 year/unlimited mileage warranty with free scheduled servicing, BMW roadside assistance, and accident hotline, BMW Service Online, and BMW Privileges Card accompanied by BMW Group Loyalty+ mobile app.
