BMW Malaysia Launched Four New M Powered Cars

BMW Malaysia has officially launched four new M powered cars — the M8 Coupé, M8 Gran Coupé, X3 M Competition, and X4 M Competition.

M8 Coupé

Pricing at RM1,452,960.88, the M8 Coupé is powered by BMW’s most powerful 4.4L twin-turbocharged V8 engine with 8-speed Steptronic automatic gearbox, producing 600hp and 750Nm torque. The car will get you from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds.

The car has the M xDrive all-wheel-drive system that contributes to the vehicles’ directional stability and superior traction. Drivers can also change to different preferences: from the 4WD default setting to the 4WD Sport mode and, with the DSC switched off, a rear-wheel-drive-only 2WD mode for use on the track.

Being an M powered car, the M8 Coupé comes with M Adaptive suspension and M Compound six-pot caliper brakes as standard. You can opt for the optional M carbon-ceramic brakes if you wish to.

The car also comes with 20-inch M light-alloy wheels in Double-spoke style 810 M Bicolour with mixed tires and the automatic tailgate operation are also available.

As for the interior, the car comes with M sport seats, M-specific gear knob, and M seat belts. It features the BMW Live Cockpit Professional running on the BMW Operating System 7.0, which consists of an all-digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a high-resolution 10.25-inch Control Display, and a full-color Head-Up Display with additional M-specific displays. The car can be operated via the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant’s latest voice control system, direct menu control buttons, the intuitive iDrive Touch Controller with its rotary/push-button, the touchscreen Control Display or the Gesture Control system.

With the Balloon Financing Plan from BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia, the BMW M8 Coupé can be owned with monthly installment plans starting from RM16,578.00 (based on estimates of an 80% loan on a five-year tenure).

M8 Gran Coupé

The M8 Gran Coupé is quite similar to the M8 Coupé in terms of specs. However, it is also available with the M Driver’s package, bringing the top speed to 305km/h. Despite having 95kg additional weight compared to the M8 Coupé, the car’s 0 to 100km/h time is actually identical with its two-door sibling.

The main difference is the size, the M8 Gran Coupé is 231mm longer than the M8 Coupé, with 200mm longer wheelbase. The windscreen of the car has a more upright angle for more headroom since this is a four-door sports car.

The interior is basically the same as well, besides more room for the rear passengers. Retailing at RM1,455,145.25, the BMW M8 Gran Coupé can be owned with monthly installment plans starting from RM16,598.00 (based on estimates of an 80% loan on a five-year tenure). X3 M Competition

Additionally, BMW Malaysia also launched two M powered mid-size SUVs. The X3 M Competition is powered by BMW’s new S58 3.0L twin-turbocharged inline-six petrol engine with an eight-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission with Drivelogic, producing 510hp and 610Nm torque. The car will only take 4.1 seconds to reach 0 to 100km/h.

It also features a 10.25-inch Control Display infotainment system with Apple CarPlay connectivity, Concierge Service, Teleservices, Remote Services, Intelligent Emergency Call, and BMW Gesture Control.

X4 M Competition

Just like the X3 M Competition, the BMW X4 M Competition packs the similar S58 3.0L twin-turbocharged inline-six petrol engine with an eight-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission with Drivelogic, producing 510hp and 610Nm torque. Even the 0 to 100km/h time is similar!

Basically, the X4 M Competition is the same as the X3 M Competition, but with a sloping roofline with a coupe-like silhouette, which sacrifices the headroom of rear passengers.
