ASUS unveiled its latest Zenbook and Vivobook Pro laptops at the Create The Uncreated online event. The event showcases a variety of new laptops, displays, peripherals, and even a motherboard, which they are targeting the content creation market by providing several new features and quality-of-life improvements for a better and optimal workflow.
This post mainly focuses on two of the many featured laptops in the event, which are the Zenbook and Vivobook Pro laptops. Among the other laptops, both models are more appealing to the mass consumer market compared to the likes of the ProArt Studiobook series that was also announced at the event.
OLED Zenbooks
Now first, let’s talk about the Zenbooks. Those who are fans of Zenbooks can rejoice as a total of 6 models of the Zenbook lineup will be receiving the OLED treatment. Depending on the model, ASUS will offer either a 4K OLED HDR display or a 2.8K OLED 90Hz display. Both displays offer best-in-class color performance with a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and Display HDR 500 compliances. Additionally, the touch display, especially for the Zenbook Flip OLED models, supports up to a 4096-pressure-level stylus for a more intuitive and natural feeling input.
Besides visual fidelity on OLED displays, the Zenbook Pro Duo 15 OLED and the Zenbook Pro 15 OLED have more to offer in terms of performance. The Zenbook Pro Duo 15 OLED is a brute, it can be fitted with up to an Intel Core i9 processor, when combined with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 GPU it is no slouch. Aside from the OLED panel, the Zenbook Pro Duo 15 OLED also has a tilting second screen on where the keyboard used to be, ASUS calls it the ScreenPad Plus. It is a secondary touchscreen for effortless multitasking.
On the other hand, the Zenbook Pro 15 OLED is also another highlight as it will be powered by an Intel H-Series or an AMD Ryzen 5000 H-Series processor, it could be spec-ed up to 32GB of RAM and up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti GPU. As for storage, users can choose up to a 1TB PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD for some ultrafast storage. The Zenbook Pro 15 OLED also has the latest ASUS ScreenPad, which is a 5.65-inch secondary color touchscreen built into the glass-covered touchpad that allows easy interaction via its ScreenExpert interface.
OLED Vivobook Pros
Apart from Zenbooks, the Vivobook Pro lineup also received some attention, targeted for people who don’t mind about looks and finishes but want a powerhouse that can make light work of content creation tasks. The Vivobook Pro 14X and 16X are the top-of-the-range in the Vivobook Pro lineup. It features the ASUS DialPad, a virtual interface integrated within the touchpad that could be used as a macro pad for creative software like Adobe.
Both the 14X and 16X are fitted with a 14-inch 2.8K OLED HDR display and a 16-inch 4K OLED HDR 16:10 display respectively. Both displays have a 100% DCI-P3 range in the color gamut. In addition to that, the displays are also Pantone validated for professional accuracy, and TÜV Rheinland-certified for low blue-light emissions. The 14X and the 16X could be powered by up to an 11th Gen Intel Core i7 CPU or an AMD Ryzen 5000 CPU, with up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti GPU, up to 32GB of RAM. There is also a dual-fan cooling system with ASUS’s IceCool Plus cooling technology and a 96Wh battery.
Furthermore, it has a full-size smooth-textured touchpad, built-in fingerprint sensor built into the power button, a backlit keyboard which is nice to see on a laptop aimed for productivity. As for ports and connectivity, both the 14X and 16X come with Thunderbolt 4 USB-C. The 14X and 16X come with multiple color choices, including Comet Grey, Meteor White, 0° Black and Cool Silver.
The Vivobook Pro 14 and 15 are just the dialed-back versions of the 14X and 16X, both are also powered by the latest 11th Gen Intel CPUs or the latest AMD Ryzen 5000 CPUs with NVIDIA RTX 3050 graphics. It also has a dual-fan cooling system with IceCool Plus technology, 16GB of RAM, 1TB of PCIe storage, and Wi-Fi 6. The Vivobook Pro 14 and 15 come in Quiet Blue and Cool Silver as color options.
