ASUS ROG Phone 8 Series Officially Launched in Malaysia

Announced earlier this month, ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) officially launched the ROG Phone 8 series in Malaysia.

To recap the specs, the ROG Phone 8 series is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor with 8,533Mbps LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage for unmatched performance. The phones sport a 6.78″ flexible AMOLED (Samsung E6) panel that supports adaptive refresh rates (1-120Hz) using LTPO technology.

The ROG phone 8 series packs a triple-camera setup on the back — 50MP main camera with 6-axis Hybrid Gimbal Stabilizer 3.0 + 13MP ultra-wide lens + 32MP 3x telephoto lens. There’s also a 32MP RGBW front camera with pixel binning of 1.4μm to output 8MP photos.

The ROG Phone 8 series introduces a host of AI-enhanced features aimed at taking the gaming experience to new heights. Gamers can seamlessly transition a game to the background using Background Mode or capture crucial moments effortlessly with X Capture, offering essential functionalities for discerning gaming enthusiasts. The addition of AI Grabber, designed for text capture, and X Sense further enrich the gaming experience by providing helpful tips and assistance as needed.

AI Grabber now incorporates Machine-Learning Recognition technology, enabling it to directly capture text from games. Meanwhile, X Capture and X Sense 2.0 extend support to a broader array of new top games, thanks to the integration of AI Pattern Recognition technology. These advancements underscore the commitment of the ROG Phone 8 series to offer a more intuitive, responsive, and immersive gaming environment for players.

The new ROG Phone 8 series includes unique customizable elements, including the Aura RGB Lighting logo (ROG Phone 8) and Anime Vision Mini-LED display (ROG Phone 8 Pro/Pro Edition), that allow owners to express their individuality and creativity. AniMe Vision is a 341-element display that can display preset or user-created animations, and users can also unlock secret animations by touching their phone back-to-back with another ROG Phone 8 Pro/Pro Edition.

Now available in Malaysia, the ROG Phone 8 (12GB | 256GB) is officially priced at RM3,999. Meanwhile, the ROG Phone 8 Pro (16GB | 512GB) is priced at RM4,799. The range-topping ROG Phone 8 Pro Edition (24GB | 1TB | with AeroActive Cooler X included) is priced at RM5,999.
