Apple Unveils 2020 iPad Pro with LiDAR Scanner

Unexpectedly, Apple has just unveiled the 2020 iPad Pro, which comes in two sizes — 11-inch and 12.9-inch. This year’s model has some new features, as well as upgraded hardware.

Powered by the new A12Z Bionic chip, the new iPad Pro comes with eight-core CPU and GPU, together with its Neural Engine. With this new chipset, tasks like editing 4K videos and designing 3D models will not be a problem. Apple also claims that the new iPad Pro comes with up to 10 hours of battery life, faster Wi-Fi connectivity, and gigabit-class LTE that’s 60 percent faster with support for more LTE bands than any other tablet.

It comes in either an 11-inch or 12.9-inch Liquid Retina display with ProMotion technology that automatically adjusts the display refresh rate up to 120Hz for ultra-smooth scrolling and responsiveness. The display also comes equipped with P3 wide color support, True Tone, and high brightness.

In terms of camera, the new iPad Pro now has a dual-camera setup on the back — 12MP main + 10MP ultra-wide. It is also capable of recording 4K videos and also features five studio-quality microphones for capturing super clean audio.

Additionally, there’s also the LiDAR Scanner measures the distance to surrounding objects up to 5 meters away, works both indoors and outdoors and operates at the photon level at nano-second speeds. Basically, the LiDAR Scanner improves the Measure app, making it faster and easier to automatically calculate someone’s height, while helpful vertical and edge guides automatically appear to let users more quickly and accurately measure objects.

Apple has also announced the new Magic Keyboard, which now also comes with a trackpad. Yup, iPadOS 13.4 now brings trackpad support to iPads. The keyboard attaches magnetically to the iPad Pro and it makes the iPad Pro float. It features USB-C pass-through charging, keeping the USB-C port on iPad Pro free for accessories including external drives and displays.

At the moment, the release date for the 2020 iPad Pro in Malaysia is yet to be announced. However, below are the prices:
