Apple Unveils iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini

It’s that time of the year again! Apple has introduced the new iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini, which are quite identical to their predecessors.

Both models remain the same sizes as their predecessors — 6.1-inch for the iPhone 13 and 5.4-inch for the iPhone 13 mini. The notch has gotten smaller by 20%. Both Super Retina XDR panels are now 28% brighter and support Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG standards. Nope, you won’t be getting a 120Hz refresh rate, that feature is reserved for the Pro models.

Powering both models is an all-new Apple A15 Bionic chip, Apple claims that it is currently the fastest chip in any current smartphone. Manufacturing around the 5nm architecture, the A15 Bionic chip comes with two high-performance CPU cores together with four high-efficiency ones. Its GPU uses a custom design and there are four GPU cores.

In terms of camera, both models get “new” sensors — 12MP f/1.6 main with 1.7µm pixels + 12MP f/2.4 ultrawide. The main camera is basically the same as last year’s iPhone 12 Pro Max one, complete with sensor-shift stabilization. As for taking selfies, both models have a 12MP TrueDepth selfie camera that supports the increasingly popular Centre Stage feature.

According to Apple, both models get bigger batteries with up to 2.5 hours and 1.5 hours of extra time on a charge. Both phones are available in five colors — (PRODUCT)RED, Starlight, Midnight, Blue, and Pink. Both phones will be available for pre-order in Malaysia on 1 October and go on sale a week later on 8 October. For more info, you can head over to the official store here.
