Apple Announces New iPhone SE with A15 Bionic Chip

Apple has announced the third-generation iPhone SE, two years after its predecessor. The 2022 edition looks the same as the iPhone 8, in fact, the iPhone 8 actually packs the same design as the iPhone 6 from 2014, but Apple has improved the internals.

The new iPhone SE still sports the same 4.7-inch display, but it now uses Ceramic Shield on the front and back, just like the iPhone 13 series. The phone also features the familiar home button with Touch ID, something that most people miss on current iPhones.

Just like the iPhone 13 series, it is also powered by the same A15 Bionic chip that is up to 1.8x faster than the iPhone 8. The camera is still the same 12MP unit without features like sensor-shift image stabilization, but the 2022 iPhone SE gets Smart HDR 4, Photographic Styles, and Deep Fusion, thanks to the A15 Bionic chip.

Other improvements include 5G connectivity and the Taptic Engine that is made of 100% recycled rare earth elements. It still has the IP67 for water and dust resistance.

The 2022 iPhone SE will be available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB models in Midnight, Starlight, and (PRODUCT)RED, pricing as below:

Customers will be able to pre-order iPhone SE beginning at 9 a.m. MYT on Friday, March 18, with availability beginning Friday, March 25, from apple.com/my/store and in the Apple Store app.
