In conjunction with CES 2022, Acer has unveiled a variety of new laptops and prebuilt desktops to add to their product roster. The Acer Swift X that had taken the world by surprise with great reviews last year had received an update and a new 16-inch variant. Acer’s all-in-one desktops, the Aspire C27 and C24 also received some love with an update of Intel’s latest 12th Gen CPUs.
Acer Swift X
The Acer Swift X is now updated with a 12th Gen Intel Core processor with up to 12 cores, paired with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti laptop GPU, fitted into a thin and sleek aluminum chassis. The 16-inch model also shares the same CPU and GPU but has better and bigger cooling vents due to its form factor.
Both variants will run on Windows 11 and feature a 16:10 aspect-ratio IPS display panel with 2,240 x 1,400 resolution for the 14-inch model and 1,560 x 1,600 for the 16-inch model. The display has narrow bezels, giving it a 92.22% screen-to-body ratio. Combined with 100% coverage of the sRGB color gamut and up to 400 nits of brightness.
Furthermore, the Acer Swift X could be fitted with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 memory and 2TB of PCIe SSD storage. The Swift X also supports Wi-Fi 6 and has I/O which includes two USB 3.2 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.0, a fingerprint reader, and an FHD webcam for a clearer picture for video conferences.
Acer Aspire C27 and C24
The Aspire C27 and C24 are now updated with Windows 11 with the latest 12th Gen Intel Core i7 processors, paired with the latest NVIDIA GeForce MX500 GPU and 64GB of DDR4 RAM, plus a 1TB SSD and a 2TB HDD. These AIOs also support Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 for simplified connectivity between devices, besides that, both AIOs also have Thunderbolt 4 support for up to 40Gbps of data and power bandwidth.
Video calls are also made easy as both AIOs come with a 5MP webcam and two stereo microphones for high-quality video conferencing. Both displays of the C27 and C24 also have a 91.14% screen-to-body ratio and could be tilted slightly for better viewing angles.

Acer also released several other new laptops and prebuilt desktops for their premium and entry gaming lineup, which are the Predator Triton 500 SE, Predator Helios 300, Nitro 5, and the Predator Orion 5000 and 3000 desktops.
Predator Triton 500 SE
The Predator Triton 500 SE comes fitted with up to a 12th Gen Intel Core i9 processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Mobile GPU, and 32GB of 5200MHz LPDDR5 memory, which makes it an extremely powerful beast. Its exterior is made from metal with spartan-styled aesthetics and has a tapered thickness whereby its thinnest point is just 19.9mm in thickness. The Triton 500 SE also has a triple fan system to cool itself, making the system run efficiently while making the most of its 99.98Wh battery.
The 500 SE also comes with a 16-inch display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600, complemented with a 240Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time. The display panel also supports NVIDIA G-SYNC and has a peak brightness of 500 nits, a DCI-P3 color gamut of 100%, and a 16:10 aspect ratio for more screen space.
The machine comes with Windows 11 straight from the factory and features a full range of USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, including two Thunderbolt Type-C ports with support for DisplayPort and power delivery, and an HDMI 2.1 port that can support 4K resolution at a 120Hz refresh rate.
Predator Helios 300
The Predator Helios 300 comes equipped with the latest 12th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 or an RTX 3070 Ti Mobile GPU, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and up to 2TB of PCIe Gen4 SSD storage. The display of the Helios 300 is a 15.6-inch QHD IPS display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 and a 165Hz refresh rate. There is also a 17-inch variant of the Helios 300 with either a QHD 165Hz display or an FHD 165/144Hz display.
On top of that, the laptop’s exterior was given a revamp, giving it a cleaner look with a thin light bar below the palm rest which is also configurable. The Helios 300 also uses a dual-dan layout that includes the latest 5th Gen Aeroblade 3D fan that is designed to keep the system running at cooler temperatures.
Windows 11 will come pre-installed on the laptop and there is also Wi-Fi 6 support. As for I/O ports, the Helios 300 features an HDMI 2.1 port, a Thunderbolt Type-C port, and two USB 3.2 Gen2 ports.
Acer Nitro 5
The Acer Nitro 5 is an entry gaming laptop, it can be equipped with up to a 12th Gen Intel Core i7 and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti GPU. The Nitro 5 will also have a pair of m.2 SSD slots for storage and could support up to 32GB of DDR4 3200Mhz of memory. The Nitro 5 also comes with a QHD 165Hz panel with a 3ms response time. There is also an AMD version of Nitro 5 which is fitted with an AMD Ryzen 6000 Series processor, paired with up to 32GB of DDR5 4,800MHz RAM.
All these laptops will be available around the middle of this year. Pricing for the Triton 500 SE will start at $2,299.99, the 15-inch Helios 300 will start at $1,649.99, whereas the 17-inch Helios 300 will be priced at $1,749.99 and the Nitro 5 will start at $1,149.99. This pricing may vary per region and is stated just for your reference.

Predator Orion 5000
The Predator Orion 5000 is the brand’s full tower gaming system, it comes fitted with the latest 12th Gen Intel Core i7 CPU paired with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 GPU for the best gaming experiences. The system also comes equipped with Windows 11, 64GB of DDR5 memory, and up to 2TB of m.2 SSD storage.
All its components are housed within an obsidian-hued chassis made of darkened glass and metal mesh with RGB accent lights peering through the side.
The system also has a Killer E3100G 2.5G Ethernet Controller and Intel’s Wi-Fi 6E for fast and reliable connectivity. The casing also has four USB ports, which include 3 Type-A and 1 Type-C, and audio jacks placed conveniently on the top of the case for easy access.
Predator Orion 3000
The Predator Orion 3000 is Acer’s mid-tower gaming system, it comes installed with up to a 12th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 GPU. The system also may come with up to 64GB of DDR4 memory, 2TB of PCIe NVMe SSD, and 6TB of SATA3 HDD for storage.
As for the exterior, the Orion 3000 shares the same aesthetic as its sibling the Orion 5000, with its components also housed in a metal case with a dark glass side panel, accented with RGB lights.
Like its sibling, the Orion 3000 also features Intel Killer E2600 Ethernet Controller, Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211 card for better and reliable connectivity when gaming.
Both gaming desktops will be available from February onwards and are expected to retail around $2,599 for the Orion 5000 and $1,999 for the Orion 3000.
