Acer Swift Edge Is the World’s Lightest 16-inch OLED Laptop

The Acer Swift Edge is the latest contender in the premium laptop scene. According to Acer, the Swift Edge is the world’s lightest 16-inch OLED laptop. It’s a laptop designed for productivity on the go, a perfect mix of performance, security, and durability.

The exterior of the laptop sports a simple yet sleek design. With a mere weight of just 1.17kg, lightness is achieved by utilizing an ultra-slim magnesium-aluminum chassis. Sharp rear edges and chamfers around the laptop make it look as if it’s precisely crafted, a simple aesthetic with is seen in all the Swift series laptops.

The Swift Edge is powered by AMD’s Ryzen 6000 Series CPUs with an incorporated Microsoft Pluton security processor. The Ryzen processor gives users exceptional processing speed and responsiveness, thanks to the chipset’s Zen 3+ cores built on an advanced 6nm process technology. The Microsoft Pluton security processor hardens new Windows 11 PCs with additional protection for sensitive assets like credentials and encryption keys. Integrating biometric authentication and a Noble Wedge Lock slot provides an added layer of security protection to help safeguard user and company data.

As for the display, the Acer Swift Edge is equipped with a 4K OLED (3,840 x 2,400) display, with a cinema-grade 100% DCI-P3 color gamut support, brilliant 500 nits peak brightness, and less than 0.2ms response time, giving a good range of colors and image clarity. The display also has a 92% screen-to-body ratio with narrow bezels. In addition to that, the screen has VESA Display HDR TrueBlack 500 and TUV Rheinland Eyesafe Display Certification.

As for accessibility and connectivity, the Acer Swift Edge comes with support for advanced connectivity needs. Wi-Fi 6E is available in the laptop for high-speed wireless connections and file sharing. Besides, there are a wide array of ports like HDMI 2.1, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports with fast charging capabilities, two USB Type-A ports, and an audio jack.

The Acer Swift Edge will be available in two variants for the Malaysian market. It will be available in either a Ryzen 7 6800U paired with a 1TB Gen4 NVMe SSD and 16GB DDR5 RAM; or a Ryzen 5 6600U paired with a 512 Gen4 NVMe SSD and 8GB DDR5 RAM. Prices for both variants will start at RM6,299 for the Ryzen 7 variant or RM5,299 for the Ryzen 5 variant. Both variants will be available on the Acer eStore and Acer official store on Shopee and Lazada starting from 8 October 2022.
