Xiaomi Pad 8 Series Officially Launched Alongside New AIoT Products

Xiaomi Pad 8 Series

Alongside the Xiaomi 17 series, Xiaomi also took the opportunity to roll out its new Xiaomi Pad 8 lineup for global markets, introducing both a standard model and a Pro variant. While they differ internally, both tablets share the same overall design and form factor, which means the display is essentially identical across the board.

Both the Xiaomi Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro feature an 11.2-inch 3.2K display with a 3,200 x 2,136 resolution and a smooth 144Hz refresh rate. Brightness can go up to 800 nits with adaptive adjustment, making it suitable for both indoor and brighter environments. In short, whether you pick the base or Pro, you’re getting the same sharp and fluid visual experience.

Under the hood is where the two begin to separate. The standard Xiaomi Pad 8 runs on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, while the Pad 8 Pro steps up to the Snapdragon 8 Elite (the generation between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and the newer Elite Gen 5). Both are paired with a large 9,200mAh battery, though charging speeds differ — 45W for the base model and up to 67W for the Pro.

Camera hardware also reflects the positioning. The standard model comes with a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera, while the Pro upgrades this to a 50MP rear shooter and a 32MP front-facing camera for sharper video calls and content creation.

On the software side, both tablets run HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. Xiaomi is positioning the Pad 8 series as productivity-focused devices, especially when paired with accessories like the Keyboard or Focus Keyboard, as well as the Focus Pen Pro stylus. With these add-ons, the company claims PC-level productivity capabilities, catering to users who want a lightweight alternative to a laptop.

The Pad 8 Pro is officially offered in a 12GB+512GB configuration at RM2,999, though Xiaomi’s online channels also list an 8GB+256GB variant at RM2,699. Beyond tablets, Xiaomi also expanded its AIoT ecosystem with the launch of the Watch 5 and the TV S Mini LED 2026 Series.

Xiaomi Watch 5

The Xiaomi Watch 5, which first debuted in China last December, arrives with a stainless steel frame and a 1.54-inch AMOLED display protected by sapphire glass. The screen offers a 480 x 480 resolution and peaks at 1,500 nits of brightness. Powering it is the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chip paired with a BES2800 low-power co-processor, enabling better efficiency.

It also features EMG, IMU, and PPG sensors that support advanced quick gestures, alongside comprehensive health tracking and one-tap health checks. A 930mAh battery delivers up to six days in smart mode or up to 18 days in power saver mode. Running on Wear OS 6, the Watch 5 is the first Xiaomi smartwatch to ship with Google Gemini built in, while HyperConnect enables seamless cross-device integration. Dual-band GNSS supports accurate outdoor tracking, and the device carries a 5ATM water resistance rating. It is available in Black and Juniper Green, priced at RM1,199.

Xiaomi TV S Mini LED 2026 Series

For home entertainment, Xiaomi introduced the TV S Mini LED 2026 Series, available in five sizes: 55, 65, 75, 85, and 98 inches. Across the lineup, users get Mini LED local dimming combined with QLED quantum dot technology for improved brightness, contrast, and colour reproduction. All models feature UHD 4K resolution, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and support for 144Hz and 288Hz refresh rates. Audio is handled by dual 15W speakers with Dolby Atmos support.

Availability begins on 3 March for the 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch models, priced at RM2,499, RM3,499, and RM3,999, respectively. The larger 85-inch and 98-inch variants will arrive later in the month, priced at RM8,999 and RM12,999.
