Xiaomi announces Redmi Note 3 and Mi Pad 2

Xiaomi today unveiled the Redmi Note 3 and Mi Pad 2 at an event in China. Both devices have full metal body with powerful specs but at affordable price tags.

The Redmi Note 3 features a 5.5-inch Full HD display like its predecessor. The device is powered by MediaTek Helio X10 octa-core processor.

The Redmi Note 3 has a 13 MP PDAF rear camera which should have faster focusing speed. There’s a fingerprint sensor at the back, which claims that you can unlock the phone in just 0.3 seconds.

The Redmi Note 3 packs a large 4,000 mAh battery. The device will be available in two variants with Silver, Gold and Dark Grey color options.

The Mi Pad 2 on the other hand, is the successor of the original Mi Pad. The device is powered by an Intel Atom x5-Z8500 processor with 2 GB RAM. It has a 7.9-inch display with similar screen resolution as the Apple iPad mini 4 resulting 326 ppi pixel density.

The Mi Pad 2 comes with 16 GB and 64 GB storage options. It has 8 MP rear and 5 MP front cameras, and it uses USB Type-C port too.

The Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 will be available in Dark Grey and Champagne Gold color options. Price starts from RMB 999 for 16 GB variant.
