Xiaomi has officially introduced its latest flagship lineup in Malaysia with the launch of the Xiaomi 17 series. The series consists of the standard Xiaomi 17 and the top-tier Ultra model. Unfortunately, the Pro variant — the one featuring the secondary rear display — will not be making its way to the local market.
Starting with the Xiaomi 17, the device packs a 6.3-inch 1.2K LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and an impressive peak brightness of 3,500 nits. Xiaomi is also using its custom M10 display panel here, promising better brightness efficiency, alongside HyperRGB technology for improved color accuracy and overall image quality.
In terms of durability, the phone features what Xiaomi calls the Guardian Structure. This includes a 6M42 aluminium frame paired with Xiaomi Shield Glass for added protection. Other hardware highlights include an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
Powering the Xiaomi 17 is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. Keeping everything running is a sizable 6,330mAh battery that supports 100W wired HyperCharge and 50W wireless HyperCharge. On the software side, it runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.
For photography, the Xiaomi 17 continues its partnership with Leica, featuring a triple 50MP rear camera setup. The main camera uses a 50MP sensor with an f/1.7 aperture and OIS. It is accompanied by a 50MP 60mm floating telephoto lens and a 50MP ultrawide shooter. On the front, you’ll find a 50MP selfie camera housed within a punch-hole cutout.
The Xiaomi 17 is offered in four color options: Alpine Pink, Ice Blue, Venture Green, and Black. Pricing starts at RM3,499 for the 12GB+256GB variant, while the 12GB+512GB model is priced at RM3,799. Do note that the 256GB version is available exclusively online.
Pre-orders run from 1 to 5 March 2026, with buyers entitled to gifts and promotional discounts regardless of whether they purchase through mi.com, Lazada, Shopee, TikTok Shop, or physical retail stores nationwide.
On top of that, purchasers will also receive several complimentary perks, including a three-month Google AI Pro trial with 2TB cloud storage, three months of YouTube Premium, four months of Spotify Premium, and RM50 worth of Grab Gifts.
