The Xiaomi 15T continues the brand’s long-running T-series tradition of delivering near-flagship performance at a more accessible price point. While it sits below the Pro model, the 15T is far from a “stripped-down” option, offering a solid mix of performance, display quality, camera capabilities, and long-term software support.

Design
The Xiaomi 15T adopts a clean and understated design that fits easily into both professional and casual settings. Its flat sides and rounded corners give it a familiar, iPhone-like silhouette that feels comfortable and sturdy in hand.
Despite using a plastic mid-frame, the phone feels rigid with minimal flex. The front is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, while the back uses a fiberglass material that resists fingerprints well. A subtle chamfer around the camera module adds a bit of visual character, while the symmetrical layout helps it stand out slightly from the crowd.
The phone comes in Black, Gray, and Rose Gold, all with color-matched frames that convincingly resemble metal. Controls are laid out conventionally, and features like the IR blaster and under-display fingerprint scanner are neatly integrated. The optical fingerprint sensor is fast, accurate, and well-positioned.
Display

Xiaomi once again delivers on display quality. The 15T features a large 6.83-inch AMOLED panel with 12-bit color, HDR10+, Dolby Vision support, and up to 3,200 nits of peak brightness.
With a 120Hz refresh rate, scrolling and animations feel smooth. While it uses LTPS instead of LTPO, the phone dynamically switches between 60Hz and 120Hz in daily use to balance performance and battery life. HDR support is comprehensive, covering HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, and Dolby Vision.
In real-world usage, the display is bright, vibrant, and easily among the best in its price range.
Performance

Powering the Xiaomi 15T is the MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultra. While it doesn’t match flagship chips like the Snapdragon 8 Elite or Dimensity 9400+, it delivers strong day-to-day and gaming performance.

CPU performance is comparable to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, while GPU performance trails slightly. Thermal management is well handled, with minimal throttling during extended use. The phone does get warm under heavy loads, but remains comfortable to hold.
For most users, the performance is more than sufficient for multitasking, gaming, and daily productivity.
Xiaomi HyperOS 2

The 15T runs Android 15 with Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS 2. Xiaomi promises four major Android updates and six years of security patches, matching its flagship models.

The interface feels familiar to longtime Xiaomi users, with improved polish and better system optimizations. Users can choose between app drawer and classic layouts, as well as a simplified “light” mode for better accessibility.
AI features are well integrated, including Google Gemini, Circle to Search, and Xiaomi’s own AI tools. These are neatly organised in Settings, making them easy to discover. Most AI functions remain cloud-based, and there are currently no additional charges.
Camera

The Xiaomi 15T features a triple-camera setup:
- 50MP main camera (1/1.31” sensor)
- 12MP ultrawide
- 50MP 2x telephoto
- 32MP selfie camera
The main camera delivers excellent photos with strong detail, accurate colors, and wide dynamic range. It shares the same sensor as Xiaomi’s flagship models, which is a major plus.
The ultrawide is weaker, with reduced detail and dynamic range. The 2x telephoto performs reasonably well, but its inclusion feels questionable, as similar results could be achieved through cropping the main sensor.
Selfies are sharp, and portrait mode delivers convincing background blur when used moderately.
For video, the main and telephoto cameras support up to 4K@60fps, while the ultrawide is limited to 4K@30fps. Video quality is strong, with good stabilisation, detail, and color reproduction. Low-light video remains usable on the main camera but drops noticeably on the ultrawide.
Battery Life

The Xiaomi 15T packs a 5,500mAh battery, matching the Pro model. Despite its efficient chipset, battery endurance is surprisingly average compared to expectations.
Charging is handled via 67W wired fast charging, allowing a full charge in about 50 minutes. However, wireless charging is missing, which may be a deal-breaker for some users.
Final Words

Retailing from RM1,899, the Xiaomi 15T is a well-rounded smartphone that delivers strong display quality, reliable performance, solid cameras, and excellent long-term software support.
While it lacks wireless charging and the periscope zoom found on the Pro model, it compensates with strong build quality, IP68 water resistance, and a polished user experience. The Dimensity 8400 Ultra may not be class-leading, but it’s more than capable for most users.
If you can live without wireless charging and extreme zoom capabilities, the Xiaomi 15T remains one of the most balanced and dependable smartphones in its segment. It may not be the most exciting option, but it’s a safe, reliable choice that deserves serious consideration.
