The Xiaomi 14T Pro was launched end of last year, and I had the opportunity to spend some quality time with it. After putting it through its paces, here’s my full review of this flagship contender.

Design
The Xiaomi 14T Pro sports a premium aluminum frame with a 3D-curved glass back, available in Titan Gray, Titan Blue, and Titan Black. Its IP68 rating ensures dust and water resistance (up to 2m for 30 minutes), while the 209g weight gives it a sturdy, flagship-like feel. However, the glossy back attracts fingerprints easily, necessitating the included silicone case for a cleaner look. The redesigned camera bump integrates seamlessly with the rear panel, reducing wobble on flat surfaces.
Display
The 6.67-inch CrystalRes AMOLED display steals the show with a 144Hz refresh rate, 1.5K resolution (2,712×1,220), and a jaw-dropping 4,000 nits peak brightness for unmatched outdoor visibility. Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support enriching streaming and gaming, while 3,840Hz PWM dimming ensures flicker-free comfort in low light.
Though advertised as 144Hz, many apps and games cap at 120Hz, and some apps display black bars in landscape mode due to the unique aspect ratio.
Performance
Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ (4nm) chipset paired with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, the 14T Pro handles multitasking and gaming effortlessly. Its performance rivals the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, scoring identical in Geekbench 6 multi-core tests.
Genshin Impact runs smoothly at high settings, though thermal throttling kicks in during extended sessions due to Xiaomi’s aggressive 3D IceLoop cooling.
Software
Running HyperOS (Android 14), the 14T Pro integrates Google’s Circle to Search, Gemini AI, and Xiaomi’s own tools like AI Interpreter and ProFocus tracking. While bloatware (e.g., TikTok, LinkedIn) remains a minor annoyance, the OS is smoother than previous MIUI iterations.
Camera
The Xiaomi 14T Pro packs a triple-camera setup on the back: 50MP f/1.6 main with PDAF and OIS + 50MP f/1.9 2.6x telephoto with PDAF + 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide.
It comes with Leica Authentic and Vibrant modes that offer distinct color profiles, with Vibrant being ideal for social media. Generally, image quality is quite solid but autofocus occasionally struggles with moving subjects, and dynamic range falters in high-contrast scenes.
Battery Life
The 5,000mAh battery lasts a full day of heavy use, with 120W wired charging refueling in 19 minutes and 50W wireless charging in 45 minutes. However, no charger is included in the box, requiring a separate purchase.
Final Words
Retailing from RM2,599, the Xiaomi 14T Pro excels as a value-packed flagship with a stellar display, Leica cameras, and blistering performance. While software bloat and regional availability hinder its appeal, it’s a top choice for photography enthusiasts and power users seeking premium features without the premium price tag. For those prioritizing camera quality and performance, the Xiaomi 14T Pro is a standout contender.
