vivo today officially launched the V5 in Malaysia, alongside with announcing Dato’ Siti Nurhaliza as the brand’s very first ambassador.
The main selling point of the device is its selfie camera — a 20MP f/2.0 Sony IMX376 unit with soft light support and Face Beauty Mode 6.0, which means the phone is able to take great selfies even under the low-light situations. As for its rear camera, there’s a 13MP unit.
The phone has a 5.5-inch HD display, which is similar to the OPPO F1s. Powering the device is a MediaTek MT6750 processor with 4GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage. Not to forget that it has a non-tactile home button, which also doubles up as a fingerprint sensor that can unlock your phone in just 0.2 second. Additionally, the phone also features AK4376 Hi-Fi chipset, which provides better sound quality.
The V5 is running on Funtouch OS 2.6 based on Android Marshmallow. The phone comes with a few handy features like Smart Split 2.0 for better multitasking experience, and Eye Protection Mode that filters out blue light to protect your vision. It is now available for pre-order until 25th November at the official retail price of RM1,299. Those who placed their orders will receive a complimentary gift box. The device will be available through all authorized dealers and retail stores nationwide from 26th November onwards.
One more thing, the company will be launching the V5Plus in December, which comes with 20MP dual front-facing cameras.
