Sony today has unveiled two new mid-range smartphones, the Xperia C5 Ultra and the Xperia M5.
The Xperia C5 Ultra is the company’s latest selfie focus smartphone. It has a 13 MP Exmor RS camera at the front and back. Like its predecessor, the Xperia C5 Ultra comes with a selfie flash for better low-light selfie shoot.
Powering the Sony Xperia C5 Ultra is a 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB expandable storage. The device comes with a 6″ Full HD IPS near-borderless display, featuring Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2. It does come with one-handed operation mode to help you easily use the device with options for both right-handed and left-handed users.
The Sony Xperia C5 Ultra features a 2,930 mAh battery and comes with three colors – black, white and glossy soft mint. Dual SIM variant will be available in certain countries.
The Xperia M5 is pretty similar to some of the Xperia Z series devices. It features the same OmniBalance design with metal frame, and the device is dust and waterproof as well with IP65 & IP68 certification.
Under the hood is a MediaTek Helio X10 processor with 3 GB of RAM. The Xperia M5 sports a 5″ Full HD IPS display with Sony BRAVIA Engine 2 technology.
Camera wise, the Xperia M5 packs a 21.5 MP Exmor RS camera with Hybrid Autofocus. The front-facing camera is a 13 MP unit, which should be able to take pretty decent selfie. The Xperia M5 is the only Sony device besides the Xperia Z series devices to be able to record 4K video.
The Sony Xperia M5 will be available in gold, black and white color options. There will be Dual SIM variant as well for this model.
