Samsung has officially unveiled its first tri-fold smartphone, the Galaxy Z TriFold, marking a major milestone in the company’s foldable journey that now spans more than 16 devices. Positioned as Samsung’s most ambitious foldable yet, the Galaxy Z TriFold features the largest display ever on a Galaxy foldable, backed by premium hardware and a suite of multitasking tools built for productivity.

At the core of the device is a pair of dual titanium hinges that fold the two sides inward, fully protecting the main display when closed. Unlike Huawei’s Mate XT lineup, Samsung places the cover display on the back, leaving the primary folding panel secured within the structure.

Once unfolded, the Galaxy Z TriFold reveals a massive 10-inch display with a 2,160 × 1,584 resolution, 1–120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and 1,600 nits peak brightness. A small punch-hole on the right houses a 10MP selfie camera, and the panel ships with a pre-applied protective film — a standard for Samsung’s foldables.
On the outside, the 6.5-inch cover screen delivers a 2,520 × 1,080 resolution, the same 1–120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and a 21:9 aspect ratio, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2. This display also carries its own 10MP selfie shooter.
Running One UI 8 on Android 16, the Galaxy Z TriFold takes full advantage of its expanded canvas. Users can run three full-sized apps side by side, and the device is the first Samsung phone to support standalone Samsung DeX, accessible directly from Quick Settings. Paired with a mouse and keyboard, it can transform into a portable desktop workstation.
Despite its size, the Galaxy Z TriFold remains sleek thanks to its Advanced Armor Aluminum frame, which measures just 3.9mm at its thinnest point. When folded, it sits at 159.2 × 75 × 12.9mm and weighs 309g. The phone also features IP48 dust and water resistance, similar to the Z Fold7 and Z Flip7.

Powering the device is the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, matched with 16GB of RAM and 512GB or 1TB of storage. For imaging, it uses the Z Fold7’s triple camera setup — a 200MP ISOCELL HP2 main camera, a 10MP 3x telephoto lens, and a 12MP ultrawide lens.
To keep everything running, Samsung equips the device with a 5,600mAh three-cell battery, split across the three rear panels. It supports 45W wired charging and 15W wireless charging.
The Galaxy Z TriFold comes in a single Crafted Black finish. Samsung will launch the device first in South Korea on 12 December, with expansion planned for China, Taiwan, Singapore, the UAE, and the U.S. Pricing has yet to be announced. At the moment, there’s no news about its availability in Malaysia.
