The wait is over! Samsung has finally announced the Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7, and Galaxy Z Flip7 FE at its latest Unpacked event.

The Galaxy Z Fold7 now measures a remarkably slim 8.9mm when folded and an even more impressive 4.2mm when unfolded, weighing just 215g, lighter than even Samsung’s own Galaxy S25 Ultra. This significant reduction in thickness and weight makes it one of the most pocketable foldables to date.

Durability sees major improvements with an IP48 rating for water and dust resistance, complemented by an Advanced Armor Aluminum frame and the innovative Armor FlexHinge featuring Grade 4 Titanium Lattice reinforcement. The display protection has been upgraded to Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the front, while maintaining Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the back. These enhancements promise better resistance against drops and scratches compared to previous models.

The display configuration has been refined with a larger 6.5-inch FHD+ cover screen and an expansive 8-inch QXGA+ main display when unfolded, both featuring Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology with adaptive 120Hz refresh rates. Samsung has opted to replace the previous 4MP under-display camera with a conventional 10MP front-facing camera, likely improving selfie quality but potentially affecting the immersive viewing experience.

Under the hood, the Galaxy Z Fold7 is powered by the cutting-edge 3nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 256GB to 1TB. While the battery capacity remains unchanged at 4,400mAh with 25W charging, the more efficient chipset may help extend battery life.

The camera system receives a significant upgrade with a 200MP main sensor borrowed from the S25 Ultra, though the secondary cameras (10MP telephoto and 12MP ultra-wide) remain largely unchanged from previous models. This positions the Galaxy Z Fold7 as a more capable photography device, particularly for high-resolution shooting.

Running on One UI 8 based on Android 16, the Galaxy Z Fold7 introduces deeper integration with Google’s Gemini AI, including innovative features like live screen sharing for recipe suggestions and expanded Circle to Search functionality that now works during gameplay. However, the device notably omits S Pen support, a surprising decision that may disappoint productivity-focused users.

Available in Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, Jetblack, and Mint (Samsung.com Exclusive) colors, the Galaxy Z Fold7 is now available for pre-order starting today, 9 July 2025, with general availability starting 1 August 2025. You can pre-order the phone via Shopee and Lazada.

Galaxy Z Flip7

The Galaxy Z Flip7 represents a significant evolution of the clamshell foldable formula, delivering meaningful upgrades while maintaining the compact form factor that has made the series popular. The most striking improvement is the expansive 4.1-inch Super AMOLED FlexWindow, which now dominates the entire front cover, offering a 120Hz refresh rate and an impressive 2,600 nits of peak brightness.

This full-cover external display transforms how users interact with the device – Gemini Live integration allows for AI-powered interactions directly from the cover screen, while optimized features like Now Bar and Now Brief provide glanceable information without needing to open the phone.

Photography capabilities receive a notable boost with the upgraded 50MP main camera now featuring Samsung’s ProVisual Engine and default 10-bit HDR capture, a significant improvement over the previous generation’s 8-bit output. The secondary 12MP ultra-wide camera remains unchanged, while a 10MP internal selfie camera is available for traditional front-facing shots.

When unfolded, users are treated to a larger 6.9-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display with adaptive 120Hz refresh rate, offering more screen real estate for productivity and media consumption.

Samsung has addressed one of the series’ historical limitations by incorporating a larger 4,300mAh battery with 25W charging, promising improved endurance. The device’s refined dimensions (13.7mm thickness when folded) and redesigned Armor FlexHinge with high-strength materials result in a more durable yet smoother folding mechanism, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on both cover and back surfaces.

In a surprising move, Samsung has equipped the Z Flip7 with its in-house Exynos 2500 processor instead of the expected Snapdragon 8 Elite, paired with 12GB of RAM and storage options up to 512GB. This configuration, combined with the device’s optimized One UI software, should deliver strong performance while potentially offering better power efficiency.

The phone also runs on One UI 8 on top of Android 16, which packs a bunch of AI features, including the integration with Gemini Live and improved Audio Eraser.

Available in Blue Shadow, Jetblack, Coralred, and Mint (Samsung.com Exclusive) colors, the Galaxy Z Flip7 is now available for pre-order starting today, 9 July 2025, with general availability starting 1 August 2025. You can pre-order the phone via Shopee and Lazada.

Galaxy Z Flip7 FE

The Galaxy Z Flip7 FE serves as a more accessible version of Samsung’s clamshell foldable, offering core functionality at a reduced price point while making some strategic compromises. Essentially positioned as a refreshed Galaxy Z Flip6 with key internal upgrades, it adopts the same Exynos 2500 processor found in the premium Z Flip7, ensuring comparable performance for everyday tasks and moderate gaming. However, it maintains the Z Flip6’s more modest 3.4-inch cover display rather than the Z Flip7’s expansive 4.1-inch FlexWindow, along with the previous generation’s camera system and battery capacity.

Storage options have been streamlined to 8GB RAM paired with either 128GB or 256GB configurations, catering to budget-conscious buyers who don’t require expansive storage. While it inherits the Z Flip6’s durable Armor Aluminum frame and hinge mechanism, along with IPX8 water resistance, it likely omits some premium materials like the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection found on the flagship model.

Available in Black and White colors, the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE is now available for pre-order online exclusively starting today, 9 July 2025, with general availability starting 1 August 2025. You can pre-order the phone via Shopee and Lazada.
