Besides the Galaxy Z Fold7, Samsung also announced the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, which are two different flip phones. I was able to play around with both phones before the launch, and here’s the first look.

The main highlight of the Galaxy Z Flip7 is the larger 4.1-inch (1,048×948) Super AMOLED FlexWindow with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2,600 nits of peak brightness. The larger FlexWindow now covers the whole part of the front cover with a dual-camera and flash cutout. You can use Gemini Live on the FlexWindow, as well as customize it. Now Bar and Now Brief are also fully optimized for the FlexWindow, meaning you get to track your live activities and see your brief without flipping open the phone.
The Galaxy Z Flip7 still features a 50MP main camera (now with ProVisual Engine), accompanied by a 12MP ultra-wide camera. The updated main camera now shoots 10-bit HDR by default, instead of 8-bit from the previous model. It also has a 10MP selfie camera if you need it.
Flipping open the phone will reveal a larger 6.9-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex Display with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. Apart from the screen, Samsung also fits in a larger 4,300mAh battery with 25W charging, so you can expect it to have a longer battery life than before.
The phone is slightly thinner and wider than its predecessor, measuring just 13.7mm when folded. The Armor FlexHinge is thinner than the hinge on the previous generation and features a restructured design and high-strength materials for smoother folds and long-lasting durability. The cover and back are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Samsung has opted for the Exynos 2500 processor instead of the Snapdragon 8 Elite this round. It comes with 12GB RAM and two storage options — 256GB and 512GB.
The phone runs on One UI 8 on top of Android 16, which is an incremental update over One UI 7. One UI 8 is now fully integrated with Gemini; you can share your screen on Gemini Live and ask for a recipe by just showing the fruits on your table. Circle to Search now also works while in gameplay.
Available in Blue Shadow, Jetblack, Coralred, and Mint (Samsung.com Exclusive) colors, the Galaxy Z Flip7 is now available for pre-order starting today, 9 July 2025, with general availability starting 1 August 2025.

As for the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, it is basically the same as the Galaxy Z Flip6 with an updated processor and different storage configurations. The Galaxy Z Flip7 FE also shares the same Exynos 2500 processor as the Z Flip7, and it comes with two storage options: 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB.
