The wait is over! Samsung has finally announced the new Galaxy Note20 series at the Galaxy Unpacked August 2020 event, alongside with the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+, Galaxy Watch3, Galaxy Buds Live, and Galaxy Z Fold2. Without further ado, here’s everything you need to know!
Galaxy Note20 | Note20 Ultra
Unlike the S20 series, the Note20 series only comes with two variants — Note20 and Note20 Ultra, guess there’s no way for Samsung to add a “+” variant since the regular Note20 is already big enough.

Obviously, the main downside of the Note20 is its standard 60Hz refresh rate, while the Note20 Ultra’s 120Hz refresh rate can only be used in Full HD+ resolution.
For this year’s Note20 series, Samsung has improved the S Pen that gives you more accuracy and responsiveness. From September 15 onwards, you can play over 100 Xbox games on your phone, directly from the cloud (beta) with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, including hits like Minecraft Dungeons and Gears 5.
Galaxy Tab S7 | S7+
The Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ both feature a 120Hz refresh rate display — the S7 has an 11-inch LCD panel, while the S7+ has a 12.4-inch Super AMOLED panel.
Both tablets pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus processor with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Both tablets have quad speakers sound by AKG, Dolby Atmos, and pack a 13MP main + 5MP ultra-wide setup for the rear cameras. There’s an 8MP selfie camera too.
The Tab S7 has a 7,040mAh battery, while the S7+ has a 10,090mAh battery, which also supports 45W fast charging.
Just like the Note20 series, it comes with the new S Pen and you get to play Xbox games on the tablet.
Samsung Galaxy Watch3
The Galaxy Watch3 is a next-generation companion for managing your routines, smashing your fitness goals, and taking ownership over your health. Built with premium materials and a slimmed-down version of the popular rotating bezel, Galaxy Watch3 features the craftsmanship of a luxury timepiece, while still being comfortable enough to wear all day and all night. But this smartwatch isn’t just appealing to the eye—it’s also the center of your wellness experience, sporting Samsung’s most expansive health suite yet.
With the Blood oxygen feature, you can measure and track oxygen saturation over time, for fitness and wellness purposes. The new Samsung Health Monitor app on Galaxy Watch3 offers cuff-less blood pressure and electrocardiogram measurements, available in markets where these features have been authorized. When a potential fall is detected, your location will be sent immediately to pre-designated contacts. Running Analysis will help you run better, improve form, and prevent injuries, while VO2 max follows your cardio progress to provide insight into oxygen consumption. For those who want to stay fit while being at home, Samsung Health provides more than 120 different home training programs so you can track your workout progress on your watch.
Galaxy Buds Live
The Galaxy Buds Live is Samsung’s answer to the AirPods Pro, which features Active Noise Cancellation. Combining AKG’s sound expertise with a bigger, 12mm speaker compared to Galaxy Buds+, along with a bass duct, audio sounds deep and rich so you can enjoy music the way the artist intended. The Galaxy Buds Live come with three microphones and Voice Pickup Unit.
Galaxy Z Fold2
Finally, it’s the Galaxy Z Fold2, which improved from the original Galaxy Fold that we reviewed before. One main complaint of the original Galaxy Fold was the tiny cover screen. The Galaxy Z Fold2 now has a larger 6.2-inch cover screen, and unfolding the phone will get the 7.6-inch OLED main screen with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The device is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus processor. It is overall thinner than the original Fold and features a hideaway hinge.
The Galaxy Z Fold2 will be available in Mystic Bronze and Mystic Black, along with a limited edition Thom Browne edition. Samsung mentioned that more information will be coming in a second event on September 1st.
