Samsung today officially announced the Galaxy Tab S3 and Galaxy Book at MWC 2017 in Barcelona, Spain. The Galaxy Tab S3 is a 9.7-inch Android tablet, while the Galaxy Book is a Windows tablet that offers in two sizes — 10.6-inch and 12-inch.
The Galaxy Tab S3 sports a 9.7-inch QXGA (2,048 x 1,536) Super AMOLED display. Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 4GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage.
The tablet also comes with an enhanced S Pen, which allows users to be more productive, creative, and do multiple things at once. It is also the first Samsung tablet to feature quad-stereo speakers tuned by AKG by HARMAN for premium visual and listening experiences. Samsung states future Galaxy devices will be able to enjoy pure, natural sound with earphones tuned by AKG included in-box. (*Cough* Galaxy S8 *Cough*)
In terms of camera, the tablet has a 13MP rear ad 5MP front cameras set up, not many details about its camera, though, since most people will not take pictures using a tablet.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 packs a 6,000mAh battery that supports fast charging. It is running on Android 7.0 Nougat with Samsung services and applications like Samsung Smart Switch, Samsung Notes, Air Command, and Samsung Flow, pre-installed.
The Samsung Galaxy Book is a Windows tablet available in two variants — 10.6″ and 12″. The Galaxy Book 10.6″ sports a 10.6-inch Full HD TFT display, while the Galaxy Book 12″ has a 12-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display.
Powering the 10.6″ variant is the 7th Gen Intel Core m3 dual-core processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB/128GB expandable storage. As for the 12″ variant, it is powered by the 7th Gen Intel Core i5 dual-core processor with two memory configurations — 4GB RAM + 128GB SSD and 8GB RAM + 256GB SSD, both have a MicroSD card slot for further expansion.
Both 10.6″ and 12″ variants have a 5MP front-facing camera for video conferencing, the 12″ variant even has a 13MP rear camera in case you need to capture photos with it.
In terms of battery, the 10.6″ variant has a 30.4W battery and the 12″ variant has a 39.04W battery. Both also support fast charging.
Both Galaxy Book 10.6″ and Galaxy Book 12″ are running on Windows 10 with pre-installed Samsung services and applications (Samsung Notes, Air Command, and Samsung Flow), as well as the full desktop Microsoft Office experience for maximum productivity. Both device also feature the S Pen and a keyboard that is larger and more tactile with discernible keys so users can comfortably type just as they would on a traditional computing device.
