Samsung today announced the arrival of the Galaxy Ring in Malaysia, available nationwide from 9 April 2025.
The Samsung Galaxy Ring has three classic color options: Black, Silver, and Gold. It comes in US ring sizes ranging from 5 to 14, all crafted from durable grade 5 titanium alloy. The ring features a concave design with gently tapered sides, while its health sensors, battery, and charging components are neatly concealed inside beneath a protective layer of epoxy resin.
Designed for durability, the Galaxy Ring carries an IP68 rating and 10ATM waterproof certification, making it suitable for swimming and all weather conditions. The smallest size (5) measures 7.0mm in width and 2.6mm in thickness, weighing just 2.3 grams, while the largest size (14) is slightly heavier at 3 grams.
The ring connects via Bluetooth LE 5.4 and works with any Android smartphone running Android 11 or later, paired with the Samsung Galaxy Wearable app. Users can access their health and activity data without needing any additional subscriptions.
A unique feature is its pinch gesture control, allowing wearers to take photos or dismiss alarms by pinching their thumb and index fingers together. The ring also integrates with Samsung Find, using built-in LED lights to help locate it if misplaced.
For health monitoring, the Galaxy Ring includes an optical PPG sensor for heart rate tracking and a skin temperature sensor. Its slim, comfortable design makes it ideal for continuous wear, including during sleep. Advanced sleep tracking provides detailed insights such as a sleep score, snoring analysis, movement patterns, sleep latency, and heart and respiratory rates.
Additional features include automatic workout detection, real-time heart rate alerts, and an energy score that combines sleep and activity data into a daily rating out of 100.
Battery life varies by ring size. The smaller sizes (5-7) have a 17mAh battery, lasting up to 6 days on a single charge. Sizes 8-11 feature an 18mAh battery with the same 6-day endurance, while the largest sizes (12-14) come with a 22.5mAh battery, extending usage to 7 days. The ring includes a compact charging case with a 361 mAh battery, capable of providing up to 20 full charges for the smaller models.
Priced at RM2,099, the Galaxy Ring is offered in ten sizes for a precise fit, with color choices including Titanium Black, Titanium Silver, and Titanium Gold.
