Samsung Malaysia today launched the Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and A8+ (2018), the first IP68-rated dual front camera device.
Both the Galaxy A8 (2018) and A8+ (2018) specs are quite similar, except for the screen size, memory, and battery capacity.
The Galaxy A8 (2018) sports a 5.6-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity Display, while the A8+ (2018) has a larger 6-inch display. In terms of memory, the A8 (2018) comes with 4GB RAM + 32GB storage combo, while the A8+ (2018) has 6GB RAM + 64GB storage. The A8 (2018) has a 3,000mAh battery, while the A8+ (2018) has a larger 3,500mAh. Both devices support fast charging via the USB Type-C port.
Powering both devices is a 10nm Exynos 7885 octa-core processor. Additionally, both devices are also IP68-rated for water and dust resistance. For the first time, both devices come with a dual-front camera setup — 16MP f/1.9 + 8MP f/1.9. The dual front camera comes with Live Focus feature, which lets you take a selfie with nice background blur effect. As for the rear camera, it packs a 16MP f/1.7 shooter with PDAF tech.
The Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and A8+ (2018) will be available in Malaysia from 19th January onwards. Retailing at RM1,799 and RM2,499, both devices come in Black, Gold, and Orchid Gray. Furthermore, those who buy either the Galaxy A8 (2018) or A8+ (2018) will receive a free 64GB Samsung Evo Plus MicroSD card and a 10,000mAh power bank with Type-C connector.
