Samsung Malaysia today officially launched the Galaxy A Series (2017) smartphones — Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017).
Both devices have a Full HD Super AMOLED display, but in two sizes — 5.2-inch for A5 and 5.7-inch for A7. In terms of design, both devices actually look a lot more like the combination of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy Note5. The devices, however, have a USB Type-C port, which is the first in the Galaxy A Series.
Powering the 2017 Galaxy A Series is an Exynos octa-core processor clocked at 1.9GHz with 3GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage. Not to forget that the 2017 Galaxy A Series devices are also dual-SIM as well. The devices also support Samsung Pay, which recently available in beta.
Additionally, the 2017 Galaxy A Series devices are also IP68 certified water and dust resistant, just like its flagship brothers — Galaxy S7 and S7 edge.
Both devices also have a 16MP f/1.9 rear camera with PDAF tech and a 16MP f/1.9 front-facing camera. Both devices also support fast charging technology, though the Galaxy A7 has a bigger battery than the Galaxy A5 (3,600mAh vs 3,000mAh).
Both 2017 edition Galaxy A5 and A7 are priced at RM1,699 and RM1,899 respectively and will be opened for pre-orders starting Friday, 6th January 2017, at 10.00 AM until Sunday, 15 January 2017 at selected participating outlets.
