Google is making cross-platform sharing a lot more seamless. The company has announced that Quick Share will now work with Apple’s AirDrop, allowing users to easily transfer files between iPhones and Android devices regardless of the device they’re using. The feature is rolling out first to the Pixel 10 series, starting today.
According to Google, security remains a key focus. The updated Quick Share system features enhanced protections that have been independently tested to ensure user data remains secure. This move follows Google’s ongoing push for better interoperability across operating systems, building on its earlier efforts with RCS messaging and unknown tracker alerts.
Google says the experience will continue to improve over time, with plans to bring the updated Quick Share compatibility with AirDrop to more Android devices soon. For now, Pixel 10 users can already try it out — and Google has shared a demo showing the feature in action on the Pixel 10 Pro.
