POCO has officially unveiled the POCO M8 Series, introducing the M8 5G and M8 Pro 5G as the brand pushes its M lineup further into the mid-range segment. With both models now offering 5G connectivity, higher refresh rate AMOLED displays, and faster charging, the new series is clearly positioned to deliver a more “flagship-like” entertainment experience at accessible prices.
POCO M8 Pro 5G
Leading the lineup is the POCO M8 Pro 5G, which comes equipped with a large 6.83-inch CrystalRes 1.5K AMOLED display featuring a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage. For photography, the phone features a 50MP Light Fusion 800 main camera, alongside an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. Selfies are handled by a 32MP front camera. One of the highlights here is durability, as the M8 Pro carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and even IP69K dust and water resistance ratings. Keeping the lights on is a 6,500mAh battery with support for 100W HyperCharge, and the phone runs on Xiaomi HyperOS out of the box.
POCO M8 5G
The standard POCO M8 5G offers a slightly more modest but still capable setup. It features a 6.77-inch Flow AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the device is the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The rear camera setup consists of a 50MP Light Fusion 400 main sensor and a 2MP depth sensor, while the front houses a 20MP selfie camera. The phone is rated IP66 for dust and water resistance and features a 5,520mAh battery with 45W turbo charging. Like its Pro sibling, it also runs Xiaomi HyperOS.
Availability
The POCO M8 Series is now available in Malaysia in Silver, Black, and Green color options, with multiple storage variants on offer. From 8 to 18 January 2026, customers can enjoy promotional pricing when purchasing through mi.com as well as Xiaomi’s official stores on Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop.
