OPPO R9s Officially Launched in Malaysia, Priced at RM1,798

OPPO today finally launched the R9s in Malaysia, which is marketed as a camera phone. Unlike last year, the company states that 2017 will be the year of mobile photography, that’s why the company focuses on the rear camera for this time.

The main highlight of the R9s is its 16MP f/1.7 rear camera with a Sony IMX398 sensor and dual PDAF technology. The device is also capable of recording 4K video as well for the first time. Selfie wise, there’s still a 16MP front-facing shooter with f/2.0 aperture.

Other specs of the R9s include a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display covered by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5, Snapdragon 625 SoC with 4GB RAM and 64GB expandable storage, 3,010mAh battery with VOOC Flash Charge supported, and a fast fingerprint sensor which also doubles up as a non-clickable home button.

The OPPO R9s is now available for pre-order from 5th January 2017 to 13th January 2017 at the price of RM1,798. The device will be available for purchase from 14th January 2017 onwards. Pre-orders can be made either offline at OPPO’s 1201 appointed point-of-sales (please refer to here for the list of concept store and point-of-sale that are available for offline preorder) or online here.
