The OPPO Enco X2 was previously launched alongside the Find X5 Pro, which is the second-generation TWS earbuds in collaboration with Dynaudio. Without further ado, here’s the full review of the company’s highest-end true wireless earbuds.

Design
The OPPO Enco X2 charging case comes in an ovular shape, which looks like a nice pebble. My review unit is the White variant, which means you are less likely to see fingerprints and scratches compared to the Black variant.
Flipping to the back of the case, you’ll see the Dynaudio branding at the hinge there. This is because the OPPO Enco X2 is a pair of earbuds in collaboration with Dynaudio.
There’s a button on the left side of the charging case, which is being used for pairing and resetting. The USB-C port and LED indicator are located at the bottom of the charging case, not to forget that the charging case also supports wireless charging.
The hinge is quite nice in terms of holding force and you can open it with one hand, though it is a little slippery. Once you open up the case, you’ll see the earbuds sitting inside and there’s also an LED indicator that’ll show different colors when the earbuds are pairing, connected, and disconnected.
The earbud design looks rather familiar, but I guess you can’t complain much about it since this is the most suitable design that will fit into most people’s ear canals comfortably. Each earbud comes with the wear detection sensor, which will pause your music when you take out the earbud and resume when you place it back. For some reason, I find that it’s not very responsive when you place the earbud back to resume your music.
Each earbud supports a single squeeze for play or pause, double squeeze for the next track, squeeze and hold to turn noise cancellation on or off, etc. You may also slide your finger up or down on the earbuds to adjust the volume without taking out your phone. You can customize each action individually through the settings, or the HeyMelody app if you are not using an OPPO smartphone.
User Experience & Audio Quality
Just like many other OPPO earbuds, you will need the HeyMelody app to customize the OPPO Enco X2 if you don’t have an OPPO smartphone. The earbuds support Google Fast Pair, meaning you’ll get a quick and effortless Bluetooth connection when you are pairing for the first time in just one tap.

You can change to a different noise control mode, its noise cancellation mode even comes with four different levels — Smart, Max, Moderate, and Mild, which is pretty straightforward.
The Enco Master EQ is where you can see the collaboration with Dynaudio, which comes in three different profiles — Real, Simple & Clear, and Punchy. There’s also the Enco X Classic, in another word it’s the classic mode. Real is selected as default, which doesn’t have extra tuning and the overall clarity is better. Punchy adds extra oomph to the music, something you’ll feel like having a party. As for Simple & Clear, it is pretty similar to Punchy but reduces impact and amps the mids and highs a little bit.
For the first time, the OPPO Enco X2 has the Golden Sound feature. This technology integrates leakage compensation, ear canal compensation, and personalized sound boost. This ensures that the OPPO Enco X2 earbuds’ sound output is close to our ideal laboratory results.
Overall, I must say I’m quite happy with the earbuds, though having the Max noise cancellation mode for a long time might cause dizziness. Game mode definitely lowers the latency, but a wireless connection is still a wireless connection, you can’t change its nature.
Battery Life
In terms of battery life, each earbud has a 57mAh battery and the charging case has a 566mAh battery. According to OPPO, the OPPO Enco X2 earbuds can last for up to 40 hours after a full charge of the charging case. Based on my usage, I find myself needing to charge the case after 5 days of usage with 8 hours of usage using the earbuds and putting them in the charging case to charge.
Final Words
Retailing at RM799, the OPPO Enco X2 is a pair of good high-end wireless earbuds. It basically nails everything a pair of good wireless earbuds could have. OPPO has done a great job by including all the features in the HeyMelody app, meaning iPhone users will also get the same set of features. However, if you are an audio enthusiast, you might find the OPPO Enco X2 is lacking slightly behind compared to its closest rivals.
