The Moto Z and Moto Z Force were announced few months ago alongside with the Moto Mods at Lenovo Tech World 2016. Today, the company announced the Moto Z Play, which is slightly cheaper than the original Moto Z, alongside with the Hasselblad True Zoom Moto Mod.
Let’s start with the Moto Z Play first, the device has a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, resulting 403ppi pixel density. Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage.
The device has a 16MP f/2.0 rear camera with laser auto-focus and dual-tone dual-LED flash. There’s also a 5MP f/2.2 front-facing camera for selfie duty as well.
The device has a 3,510mAh battery, which claims to have up to 50 hours battery life. Like the original Moto Z, the device also supports TurboPower charging, which provides up to 9 hours battery life in just 15 minutes of charging.
The Hasselblad True Zoom Moto Mod adds advanced imaging capabilities to the Moto Z series. It features 10x optical zoom and a Xenon flash, which you don’t usually get in a smartphone. The Hasselblad True Zoom also brings the ability to shoot in RAW format. It also has a physical shutter and zoom controls, which offers better handling experience. Users will also get free access to Hasselblad’s Phocus software for streamlined editing control and the highest quality output.
