We all know that LG isn’t quite active in Malaysia when it comes to smartphones. Surprisingly, the company has just announced that its latest flagship, G6, will be available in Malaysia from the first week of May onwards, that’s really fast!
Announced at MWC 2017, the G6 sports a 5.7-inch QHD+ (2,880 x 1,440 resolution) FullVision display in 18:9 aspect ratio, instead of the regular 16:9 aspect ratio. Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB expandable storage.
In terms of camera, the G6 has two 13MP rear cameras — one standard and one wide angle lenses. There’s a Square Camera Mode, which shows your recent photos in one window in film mode so that users don’t need to move to their gallery to review them. Users can also create GIFs by combining between 2 and 100 photos from the gallery.
Juicing up the device is a 3,300mAh non-removable battery, which also supports Quick Charge 3.0. For the first time, the G6 is actually IP68 water and dust resistant. Other features are the fingerprint sensor, Dolby Vision technology and HDR 10 supported, LG UX 6.0 with Google Assistant built-in on top of Android 7.0 Nougat, and 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC.
The LG G6 will be available in Malaysia from the first week of May onwards, retailing at RM2,999 with three color options to choose — Astro Black, Ice Platinum, and Mystic White. Each purchase of the G6 comes with a free flip case worth RM174 while stocks last.
