Huawei has announced two new devices at IFA 2015 – the G8 and Mate S.
Like its predecessor, the G8 features 90% metal body and a 2.5D cambered surface design. Under the curved glass there’s a 5.5″ Full HD TFT display.
Powering the Huawei G8 is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB internal storage. The 13 MP rear camera lens is covered by sapphire glass for better durability. The front-facing camera is a 5 MP unit.
The Huawei G8 has a 3,000 mAh battery and there’s a fingerprint sensor at the back as well. It is running on EMUI 3.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
If you know the Ascend Mate7, the Huawei Mate S is actually a slightly smaller version of it but with better specs.
The device features a 5.5″ Full HD AMOLED display covered by a 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 4. The Mate S comes with Force Touch technology, which incorporates an improved version of the Knuckle Control feature.
The Mate S is powered by a 64-bit Kirin 935 processor with 3 GB of RAM. There are 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB options for the internal storage.
There’s a 13 MP RGBW camera at the back with OIS and dual-tone flash. The front-facing camera is 8 MP though.
The Huawei Mate S features 2,700 mAh non-removable battery and is running on EMUI 3.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
Both Huawei G8 and Mate S will be available in Malaysia by this month. So stay tuned for more updates.
